Hey there. I'm Mike. I got diagnosed with Peyronies Disease in my penis 2 days ago. However, I knew I had it before I saw my urologist. I have only scratched the surface in terms of learning about this. The only thing I've learned for sure so far, is it sucks.

My urologist called in a prescription right away. No idea what it was called. Two pills 4 times a day. He seemed to think that was the best course of action so far. The pharmacy called me - it's not made anymore. I still haven't gotten anything yet, so it may not be until sometime next week. I went from hopeful to scared.

I'm single and have a very active sex life (no judging - I divorced because my ex-wife closed the sex department indefinitely. I moved out instead of having an affair). And I am actively searching for a long term relationship as well. But who wants a dude in his 50's with a broken dick? Not only does it curve back towards my stomach, it actually bends about a third of the way up from the base. It's like trying to insert links of a chain into a vagina. And it hurts like hell. If I try too hard, the pain kills my erection.

The only thing I feel that I can do is learn all I can about this curse...errrr....I mean, disease. I had quintuple bypass last summer and am fully recovered (just like a rebuilt motor in a classic car). I have been on beta blockers since then and I have read Peyronies is a side affect. I don't remember injuring it. But at the end of the day, it probably doesn't matter.

I look forward to reading about the things people have learned here. Hopefully it will relieve this nightmare somewhat. Or convince me to become a priest haha

What is the name of the medication your Uro prescribed?  It sounds as if it could be Potaba. If so, ask him for Pentoxifylline, it's a far better option. You can read about it here on the site. If he refuses, consider finding a more clued up Uro. You can find a list here on the site.

You should also consider, low dose Cialis, ALC, Citrulline Malate, Ubiquinol. BUT, as you have had serious heart problems, check all this out with your doctor first.

For the curvature, I would suggest VED. You can also consider traction, or possibly both.

In the meantime, I would suggest you read as much as you can about the disease on the site. You need to know your enemy. I can't pretend that this will not be a long & hard fight, but most of us get back some form of useable dick. The main thing is start now!  This will not get better on its own, and may well get worse, left untreated.

I have no idea what it was. I take so many medications, it's ridiculous. I did have my cardio doctor take me off Imdur - a nitrate. So the new doc did prescribe me Cialis daily. I did visit a friend of mine Thursday and was able to achieve full penetration and orgasm with her (of course, she is smoking hot - that helped lol). I am not meaning to be graphic here, but I tried a position that seemed more helpful. So I'm thinking I may need to experiment with positions as well.

I have no idea what VED is. Could you clarify please?

Thanks very much for your feedback - it is certainly appreciated. I do intend to heed any advice I can find here.

Mike grind;

A VED is a Vacuum Erection Device. It forces arterial blood into the penis creating an erection. Erections are good. Firstly they oxygenate the penis, helping to keep it healthy. Secondly, used correctly, they stretch the scar tissue and the surrounding tissue. Depending on the extent of your curvature, I would look at a three cylinder model. They're more expensive, but the small tube will hold a normal size penis pretty much dead straight.

If you need chapter and verse, send a p.m. to Old Man. He's our resident guru on all things VED.

As for the medication, it may well be something he feels won't interfere with any other meds you're taking. But, I'd ask what it is, anyway.
