Dear all,

I am a 39 years old male and just recently developed this. Not much pain but significant curving towards the left. No clear plaques to be felt so far. The mental strain is significant and I would like to do something to optimize chances of recovery/stabilization.

After reading through this website and some articles I have some questions which I would like your input on. Some may be covered in posts elsewhere off course which I may have missed.

A number I do not seem to be able to find: of all men who develop Peyronies Disease which percentage get to the point where deformities preclude sexual contact? Given the fact that the incidence is estimated at 0.5-3% and the total number of surgeries for this is relatively small it must be on the low side. MY urologist said 10%. What do you think?

Pentoxyffilin enthusiasm is based on one single center study from Iran. I observed that it is popular among this community and advocated by several American specialists. However the recent European urology association advises against this.

Stretching is a difficult concept. Peyronies Disease is supposedly caused by hyperinflammatory and profibriotic responses to micro injury. This is exactly what stretching induces and one might wonder whether this is safe. Furthermore, the published studies were done in patients with >12 months of disease and therefore one might wonder whether it is safe to start this early on. Same goes for VED. Whats your take on this?

Stretching seems cumbersome and it is difficult todecide whether I should try a suction type stretcher or not. Which are the communities favorites and which would experienced members suggest? Thanks for the input.

Thanks for responses and all the best

DJPER- Welcome to this unfortunate brotherhood. Here in you will find a lot of advice from vets. You will find that tension devices are popular here, but not endorsed by all. You will find VED is popular here and is endorsed by almost everyone. My treatment includes both. I would at least start with VED right away. Remember this cussed disease hits everyone differently, and everyone responds to treatment differently. Good luck, hope you find light for the way.Regards Inkhorn

Thanks for the input. My plan is to get anxiety under control, not easy but it doesnt help, and be proactive. Therefore my plan is to start pentoxifyllin (based upon the rationale, anti TGF, the endorsement of US specialists and the popularity on this site and low side effects), L arginin (cheap, potentially helpfull and low side effects) and low dose cialis (based upon a single study and its potential antifibrotic properties). I ordered a VED (soma correct manual) yesterday. With regard to stretching I cant decide yet but if I would I think the penimaster looks the most comfortable, please suggest a better one if any of you disagrees. Then continue this first for 3 months, reevaluate and change or continue. Reasonable plan?

Go to the VED board and follow daily the single cylinder exercise. It only takes 15 minutes a day and in my opinion you do not need a traction device.
The daily Cialis is also a good option. You did not say if you are married or single but maintaining a good sex life will help the anxiety.  To avoid futher injury the suggested sexual position is boy on top and put a pillow under the girls butt. This changes the angle and allows for better penetration and movement, without slipping out. Always have sex with a rigid penis and a good lube to avoid futher injury.
There is a lot of information on this forum. Any questions just ask.
