I'm 61, always had slight curvature in penis, however in last two months it curved more and I can feel plaque in shaft. My wife also has felt this and she mentioned a narrowing (hour glassing?) No pain.
I  went to urologist today. He felt plaque too, measured curvature and ordered ultrasound while flaccid and then erect.  The technician said there was no visible plaque, but you can defiantly feel it.
My urologist said probably Peyronies but insurance won't cover injections to break up plaque, but would cover surgery.
How can plaque that is felt not visible on ultrasound?   Should I get second opinion?
Should I just wait a few months to see what progresses?

It's very hard to see the plaque on ultrasound, so many urologists don't even offer it. In Japan I was told you simply cannot see it via ultrasound.
It's a newer diagnostic tool and it's not perfect. If it feels and looks like Peyronie's, it's very likely to be Peyronie's. You could certainly see another urologist, but I'm not sure if it's necessary. Look into VED therapy and traction and consider pentox and low dose daily cialis or alternatives.
