Hallo Everyone,
I registered with PDS some months ago and since then have been busily reading a lot of your posts and entries, I am totally amazed at all the great information and contribution that you have all provided here it has given me lots of encouragement and hope and I thank you all very much. I'm only sorry that I didn't get to the PDS site earlier, but sometimes one looks so hard for things that you often can't see the wood for the trees.
Anyway I thought it was about time I introduced myself, I am 63 years old and have had Peyronies for almost 2 years, first diagnosed in early 2014 although the discomfort stage had started sometime earlier, at that stage what I experienced was a fair amount of discomfort but not really pain as such and I noticed a slight hourglass formation at the base of the glans with a slight upward curvature, intercourse was not really a problem although there was a slight increase in the discomfort level at times. I was referred to an Urologist and had first visit and ultrasound in early April 2014. The ultrasound report stated "Multiple small echogenic foci of plaque (2mm Dia) within the tunica as well as within the right corpus cavernosum, the clustering of plaque is most marked at the site of the hourglass constriction proximal to the glans."
The standard wait and see approach was taken by the Uro. Hoping that it would all clear by itself but meanwhile prescribed Colchesene 1-500mcg and Cialis 1-5mg daily as well as Vit E. Over following weeks with exception of the occasional flare up discomfort subsided considerably, and no noticeable change in appearance that I could see. After about 6 months stopped taking the Colchesene but kept on with the same dosage of the Cialis.
Not long after the diagnosis I also decided to buy the Phalosan Forte extender as I thought this might help with the curvature situation, I did use it for approx 4 months or so but found it very uncomfortable to wear for extended periods of time, used to average about 4 hrs/day. Did try and wear it during sleep but with night erections was neither comfortable or practical and I don't know if I got any benefit from using it and in hindsight I'm wondering if the way Phalosan works, in bending and pulling the penis one direction at the base and in the opposite direction by the glans, whether this might possibly do more harm than good. I would be interested in hearing if anyone has had any experience with this product, good or bad.
Had subsequent follow up visits to the Uro. Without any major changes, and no change to his approach to dealing with the situation. Then towards the beginning of 2015 I started to notice a loss of penile length, so on my next visit, as the Uro was not coming up with any great ideas or information I suggested to him that I would like to have another ultrasound done to ascertain if the plaque had changed or increased in size. the results showed negligible change, which I thought was positive, that was in April 2015. However there was still this loss of penile length (2cm or so) I wouldn't mind getting that back, I'm not that well endowed that I can afford to lose even that much. I also told The Uro that I was going to pursue and try some alternative treatments and he seemed quite positive about that but at the same time he wasn't actually overflowing with information, ideas or suggestions as to where I could start.
At this stage intercourse is still not a problem and with the exception of the reduction in length and a very slight indent on the middle left side, and these have occurred over a  period of time and not just overnight, there has been very little change, also as far as I can tell hourglass and curvature are basically unchanged.
So anyway at this stage I'm looking at trying some of the things that a lot of you are already using and advocating
So as well as continuing with my current dosage of Cialis I' thinking of trying:-
Pentox   -  If I can get a scrip (he was positive about alternatives, so I could be lucky, have already printed out   reports  that you have provided on PDS site that I can present to him)
Ubiquinol
L-Citrulline
Accetyl –L-Carantine
Possibly also VED
Not sure what dosages at this stage, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Besides working with the Uro. Am thinking of also looking into Homeopath/Naturopath
Sorry for the long winded intro didn't mean to start a novel but thought I would get as much of my history down as possible.
Thank you again for this great forum and any thoughts, suggestions or input would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Dros

I have made the same experiences with the Phallosan, I guess it doesn't hurt, but it doesn't seem to work either, at least for me... I bought a VED since and I feel like the VED could be of more help (haven't noticed an improvement yet, but at least it *feels* like it is actually stretching my plaque). I would definitely advise you to get a prescription for Pentox, there seems to be a lot of consensus that is might help (here on the forum and with experienced Uros as well).

Homeopathy definitely does not work, I would save your nerves and money for actual treatments.

Good luck to you! :-)

AusCesco52,

Sound like you are well informed and at least on the right track at this point.

thank you for the replies and comments, and not sure about well informed but I am trying thanks to all you guys and the massive amount of information that you have provided, I'm still reading and rereading some of the posts looking for info that I had already seen but not really taken in and wanted to revisit.
Still not sure about dosages to take, not only for the Pentox but also for the Ubiquinol, L-Citrulline and the Accetyl-L-Carantine, any prompts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also is there any problems with the combination of the above?
Also what features should I be looking for in selecting an appropriate VED.
I have an appointment with my Uro on the 21st and just wanted to try and get as much info together as possible to hit him with!

Thanks again

I have similar experience with a The Phallosan. It's usable, but nowhere near as easy to locate or as comfortable as claimed. I can't imagine wearing it for 8 hours straight, as suggested.

In my case, I'm using it to stretch new grafted tissue after my surgery. It was recommended by my Urologist because it's the only one that can be worn for periods of longer than 2 hours. Although I've never managed more than 3.5 hours so far. If your plaque is not calcified, the Pentox may soften it enough to allow traction to be of some help.

I take all the supplements you mention. I still do although technically I'm now Peyronies free after my surgery. I buy the ALC, Citrulline Malate in powder form, it's far cheaper - they both dissolve easily in water. I take a teaspoon of each and have no problems. You may experience a bit of 'looseness' to begin with, however. Ubiquinol 200mg daily.
