Hello  8)  ...and thanks for offering this forum!

New here and like many other newbies, devastated. Self-diagnosed 6 months ago, finally got GP's word for it last week. No treatment yet. I´m 40, danish and married with children.

In about a week I am going to the specialist (urologist) and then I will know more. I am super scared and depressed about the whole situation. Being on the inside of the health sector really does not help quell the anxiety, knowing how often operations (in general) result in complications. They asked me to bring pictures of erect member. Great, those should be fun to shoot.

The stats: Diagonal plaque band almost complete, located near the mid point. Angle is close to 45 degrees now at the bend. Visible indentation when flaccid, but with no bend. Irritation when peeing. Pain when erect, which kills erection. Sex, not possible. Circumcised because it was necessary - really thought I was done with people putting scalpels to my penis after that.

It´s a bit like dying without dying. Very fearful of the future. I find myself eating more candy, ice cream, cake, pastries, chocolates and nuts lately. Pretty lucky I don´t drink as I am sure I would have become an instant alcoholic last week.

How are people dealing with work? I find it VERY difficult to keep up appearances and interact in my regular happy way. My colleagues are all expert people experts, which means everyone can tell that I am suffering.

Its good that you are acting on this now. It is very unlikely to go on its own. You should read all you can on this site, there is a wealth of knowledge about this disease here.

Surgery is considered the last resort here. I would suggest that you read the sections on oral treatment - especially Pentox. Read also the sections on VED and traction. And also Xiapex or Xialflex. You should have as much knowledge as possible about what you are up against. Also, it will help, you to decide if the Urologist you are about to see is up with the latest treatments for Peyronies. Many are not.

This disease hits every one of us just as hard mentally, as physically. You are not alone. You can beat this, but you must stay positive and start fighting back, now!

LavaBrain,

Welcome to the place no man wants to be.  Read up.  I would start exploring traction and/or VED immediately, as well as any scar tissue softening agents/circulation improvement agents you can find.  There is a wealth of information here.

I am not adding nothing on the previous answers, you should be on Pentox, low dose Cialis and VED in my opinion.
Read as much as you can on the subject and printout some documents regarding the above treatment to take with you to your "specialist" appointment.
You may find the documents here:
