Hello All,

I am a new member but have had what I believe to by Peyronies Disease for several years. My case does not fit what seems to be the most common symptoms. I do not have plaque or bumps but only an hourglass on the left side half way up my penis, bending to the left approximately 65-70 degrees. I have always had very slight curvature, non problematic to the left however it slowly became worse starting 2.5 years ago. When I noticed things seemed to be changing I consulted with a Urologist and he recommended a Verapamil gel. I stayed the course applying as prescribed for 6-7 months and it seemed to stop further progression however 8 months in it began to curve more. Frustrated, I stopped the treatement and within a short month or so it took a turn for the worse.  Up until then my wife was ok with the bend provided sex was gentle however by month 12-14 the pain (mine and her) became so bad sex was no longer enjoyable. Although we enjoyed a very healthy sex life before the Peyronies Disease we both found sex wasnt that important and given other health issues I placed any treatment on the back burner. Most recently I have really begun to miss the bond and physical enjoyment convincing me to seek additional and new treatment. I visited a new Urologist and dicovered I am not a candidate for Xiaflex as I do not have scare tissue or plaque. Additionally, I was told I waited too long. I have been prescribed Potaba at 24 pills per day, something I am not looking forward to. Additionally, he placed me on a 4 day steroid anti-inflammatory treatment along with Cialus. He has indicated exercising along with the meds may have a positive affect. I have not begun taking the meds but very concerned about the nausea associated with Potaba.

BTW: I do not have ED with the exception I have no interest so therefore I do not get fully hard. I do not want to cause my wife pain and have put sex out of my mind.

I am not sure I should be doing something else? Do I have Peyronies Disease? Help!!

Unfortunately in my opinion you had two incompetent urologists (as many of us) not updated with the available treatments.
Verapamil gel has not helped no one (almost) same with Potaba. Have many other things to do.
Proposing you to read:
Peyronies Survival Guide - Information for New Members - Peyronies Society Forums
How the urologist decided that you don't have a plaque? He made you an ultrasound?
Can you tell us what is your age?

He did not do an ultrasound and I am a healthy 52 years. I suffer from extreme back pain with 9 abnormal discs (as of 2 weeks ago). Given the back pain I have undergone at least 20 rounds of steroid shots, burning my nerves, and many pain pills. I have read the pain pills may have an effect on Peyronies Disease.  I have also recently undergone complete knee replacement surgery.

Any suggestions for a Peyronies Disease specialist in South Florida?

Casper read the survival guide.

Pentox, Cialis, CoQ10, Traction, VED, are the most commonly used and helpful treatments here on these forums (from what we can all tell).

I had surgery on my disks. I don't recommend getting too many shots in your spine, it can wear some stuff down. I really wish you luck with that..

You must have an ultrasound to be sure if you have a plaque or not. You should seek a competent urologist. You may find one close to you competent here:

Maybe you are candidate to Xiaflex.
The low dose Cialis (2.5 or 5 mg per day) with Pentox 3*400 mg daily and VED may help you with the curve and the pain.
I am also proposing you to make a testosterone test. Your age range is 190 to 740, but you should be close to the top, not to the bottom.
By the way, I have also discs problems, 3,4,5,6 and 11,12,13,14 with huge pain. Was not able to stand up, sit, lay down. Always pain.
All the specialists (best of the best, all professors) told me I have to undergo surgery, I refused. Thai classic massage, twice a week, during 6 months, solved my pain problem. I tried also 2 chiropractor doctors, no help, even the treatments emptied my pockets. I know it may be difficult to find a real Thai classic massage specialist where you are living, but it helped me.

Thanks very much guys! I am seeking out a new urologist and have begun reading, understanding. I will update my progress however any additional recommendations (particularly for a Dr in Florida) is invited and well appreciated.

Hope someone will answer to your question, I am just quoting a member report:
QuoteMiami or South Florida please stay away from Dr. Carrion. his office and staff are a disaster.
He is not the doctor you want.
