Fibrous plaque

Hello. I am 37 years old and I have a small hard lump on the side of my penis, near the head. I first noticed it at age 21 after one night when a girl had been tugging my penis aggressively during foreplay. I think this caused a mild injury and scar tissue, resulting in the fibrous plaque.

I went to my doctor when I was 21 but he didn't know what it was. He said it was nothing. The lump disappeared on it's own.

Since then the lump has occasionally re-appeared in exactly the same place. I think rough sex or masturbation can aggravate the condition?? The condition calms down if I abstain from sex or masturbation for a while.

Recently the lump has come back again! It seems worse. It's been a couple of weeks and it doesn't seem to be softening. The lump can be felt under the skin when the penis is soft and is more noticeable when erect. I don't have any pain although the plaque itself is uncomfortable. There is no unusual bend. My sex drive is very high and my erections are strong.

It seems to be an autoimmune response because it flares up in response to aggravation of the affected area.

MY QUESTIONS:

1.  Is this fibrous plaque simply scar tissue and thus an irreversible condition like any other scar?

2.  What is calcification? How can I tell if my plaque is calcified?

3.  Does the jes-extender or other Vacuum Erection Device help with small lumps, mild peyronie's?

4.  Shall I take Pentax and Vitamin E supplements?

5.  Is this likely to progress and worsen?

You said it comes and goes. Therefore I don't believe it is fibrous plaque or scar tissue.

Plaque over time can accumulate calcium deposits and become very hard. My doctor explained this to be almost like a bone. And at this point is irreversible. But there have been some accounts here on the forum of softening calcified tissue

These type of extenders are more for stretching plaque and therefore correcting curvature. You stated you don't have curvature so I don't think this or a VED would necessarily help. Many guys on the forum use VEDs simply to promote good penile health.

Pentox could help with the pain and inflammation if that is the source of your pain

None of us here can answer that question.

LWillisjr has answered all your questions but I would like to add my opinion regarding question no.5:
QuoteIs this likely to progress and worsen?
If it is Peyronies, in most cases it will progress and worsen without treatment. Sorry not saying the opposite.
Very few cases I know that improved alone.
I am warmly advising you to see a good doctor as soon as you can that can tell you what it is.

Thank you for your replies.

I contacted my doctor for an appointment. I'll have to wait 2 weeks or I can get a telephone consultation tomorrow. Obviously I need a doctor to confirm that it is a fibrous plaque and not something else.

Does anyone with Peyronie's Disease ever report inflammation and hardening of fibrous plaque when aggravated and/or when the penis is erect? The lump feels like like a tendon inside my penis.

If I do have Peyronie's Disease then it must be a very mild case? Perhaps a prescription of Pentox will get rid of the lump quickly and easily?

If it is Peyronies, the lump will not go (usually) quickly and easily.
I had a lump when I was 30 that gone in one week, until today I don't know what was it because I got Peyronies at the age of 62.
In any case, will be good to take with you to the appointment some documents from the library regarding Pentox. Just in case :)

Spoke to my doctor on the phone. He said he'll see me on Monday.

Ok. Considering the feedback given below and after some further online research, I think it is unlikely that I have peyronie's disease. It's not as bad as peyronie's. The bump in my penis shaft is most likely a penile lymphocele.

It feels like a piece of cartilage, 20mm x 3mm. The bump runs along the side, above (and parallel with) my circumcision scar, 10mm below the head. It's painless. I can move it around a bit under the skin but it's stuck in one place. When I'm erect it expands, protrudes, and feels tender and uncomfortable. This is the main problem because it makes sex uncomfortable and is somewhat embarrassing.

If it is a penile lymphocele then it might disappear again. I don't think there is anything I can do about it? I find it difficult to abstain from frequent masturbation and/or sex lately. I think the l‑arginine and l-carnitine have made me more horney. I'll see what the doctor suggests. I guess he might diagnose me or refer me to a urologist.
