My urologist says that I have Petronius disease due to trauma of the penis which occurred 5 months ago but I do not have curvature of my penis. It was painful after the event and I had a great deal of difficulty for a time getting an erection but now I can get an reaction but it only lasts for a short (few minutes) which is my concern as before the trauma I could keep an reaction for a much longer ( 25 min +) time. Could the trauma have caused the scarring to occur at the base of the penis in which there would be no bend? I am frustrated at my inability to have a normal sex life. Any answers would be appreciated. Thanks

Tinker,
Did your uroligist do any kind of an examination? What led him/her to a Peyronies diagnosis. Probably one of the worse stories I ever heard was somone who went to a urologist and said their penis hurt. And without any kind of test or examination the urologist said "you must have Peyronies Disease". The guy wasted time chasing Peyronies only to later discover he had a pinched nerve in his lower back.

Not being able to maintain an erection could be other problems not related to Peyronies at all. Issues such as depression, lack of confidence, worry, etc.

Do you know what kind of trauma you had or did the urologist way it must have happened that way? Don't assume or believe anything thing without proper testing, evalution, and diagnosis.

Thanks for your replies. To give you further information the trauma happened when my fiancé and I were having sex. We had been in the hot tub and she was not very well lubricated but very excited. She got on top and I did not get much penetration maybe 1-2 inches. She bent my penis back and forth at that spot until orgasm but it hurt. After I could not get and reaction for weeks so I saw my urologist who did a manipulation of my penis as the examination and then said I had Peyronies . He suggested that it would be fine in time and that I take 400 mg doses of vitamin e. this was 5 months ago and although I can get an erection it only lasts a few minutes and then it iis gone. I saw the urologist and he said that is the way it is. He gave me Viagra and it helps but I feel extreme unrest, racing heart etc when I use it. Since I am 58 my fiancé says it is just old age but 6 months ago befor the trauma I did not have this problem I enjoyed sex. Now I want it very bad but am afraid of my pyhisical ability to perform as well my fiancé has had many partners and I guess I feel a little performance anxiety now.hope this gives a little more insight to my situation. I do not have a bend in my penis and nothing hard such as a build up anywhere along the shaft. Inodmhave a tingling at the head at times but no problems urinating. Could the damage occur below the shaft?

If you have problems with Viagra, try Cialis. I prefer Cialis.

I can take Viagra and Levitra but Cialis kills me.  It feels like a mule kicked me in the kidneys the next day (a known side effect).  Levitra is better than Viagra because food does not interfere with absorption.
