new technique success
« on: October 19, 2012, 10:35:19 AM »

I have been useing the augusta single cyl electric pump ved for 10 min twice daily for about 2 and a half weeks now. In the begining it took 5 to 7 of those minutes to achieve a full erection. Slowly that time went down to 3 or 4 minutes, I think the Pentox helped. I never had the pumps safety switch stop the pump before I experienced slight discomfort and manually stopped pumping. The last 2 days I discovered something. If after achieving full erection I pull out of the device, lube and do a gentle stretching massage for a few seconds then reenter the device I can pump until the pump shuts off on its own with no discomfort. Now this came with time and I wouldnt recomend this to someone just starting ved therapy but for those who feel they have hit a wall and could get a bit more out of there treatments this may be worth trying. So you know I added an extra 5 minutes to my sessions for approx 5 min to full erection, 5 min of pumping and holding for 30 seconds and 5 mins of massaging, max pumping, release , massage, pump again.

ldhw: there are some similarities between the VED techniques our instincts took us too (my "VED first impressions").  Listening to one's body.

I use a manual pump and I've never reached the low pressure safety release point.  Your now being able to "pump until the pump shuts off on its own with no discomfort" indicates your progress, but it also indicates that your pump's safety switch is set too lightly for your body.  Shouldn't the Peyronies VED treatment include applying as much vacuum as the penis can take without pain or injury?  If so you may now be applying too little vacuum, or it might be too little in a few more weeks, and you have no way to know.  A pump's premature cutoff can prevent one from listening to his body.

A VED with a motorized pump can be problematic exactly because you can not fine tune the vacuum.  A motor is fine for an erection for sex  a few times a week but a man with Peyronies Disease needs to balance on a delicate line of erection pressure; enough to reshape scar tissue, not enough to traumatize the tissue (tear tissue or draw blood through capillary walls) as it expands.

Valid points all. At this point for myself I however am pleased. I feel I now have achieved the largest, fullest erection I am capable of (she really is a bute) without pain. Near as I can tell that is the goal with ved isnt it?  Now its just a matter of having a dedication to continue the process daily so this disease doesnt contract my tissues.

ldhw, please clarify: is the "bute" in the tube or natural?

Well a little of both ;D My natural erections are now a bit larger than pre-peronies but in the tube..... lets just say I wish I could leave it in there as if it were a display case ha ha ha. My natural erections still have a slight upward curve at the end but it is much fuller and the flat spot on the dorsal side has plumped out a bit, also the glans is getting hard again which had become hit and miss.

IMPORTANT UPDATE!!!  I changed my battery today and discoved that my pump was stopping because it was running out of juice. I was still able to pump without pain all the way to the safety cutoff with my new massaging technique but the motor doesnt stop it just runs without pulling more vacuum. Just remember everyone is an individual and all our results will vary. Safety first gentlemen, listen to your bodies and dont over do.

I am massaging in a linear fashion from base to tip with thumb and fore finger on either side with a gentle pinch and pull action using a generous amount of lube. I do  a few stokes on the sides of my penis then a few strokes top and bottlom and then slide it back into the unit and pump again. I hold the pump for 30 seconds then pull out massage and repeat for approx the last 5 minutes of my 15 minute sessions. Just in case anyone wants to try the technique. In my experience when I have done more aggressive massage trying to break plaque up I had allot of inflammation the next day, I dont think that can be a good thing. This massage is simply to gently lossen fibers and encourage blood flow. For what its worth I am a massage therapist by trade.

I would also be interested to know about this. Whenever I touch the plaque it seems to make it worse.

I tried massaging, including two weeks with olive oil with no help, but also not worsening.
Maybe because my plaques are calcified.

Hi James

What kind of massaging do you do?

Soft? hard? what technique do people do as I have heard a lot about this - and of course re. Xiaflex, I hear that the doctors remould the plaque aftre injecting - I am assuming this is a form of massage too?

I have done soft massaging as I don't want to make additional damage to my penis, for 30 minutes a session.
Regarding Xiaflex, as I understand from the people that participate in the trials was not massage like, more like a strong pull to brake the scar.
Hope someone that participated in the Xiaflex trial will jump in with first hand information.

Hi James

You said before that you use olive oil for the massage too - do you use this as lubrication for the ved? Inside the ved cylinder too?

Olive oil is not water soluable so it will be a pain to keep clean.  Use a water soluable personable lube like KY or similar.

I have tried some gentle stretchng and massage but I found I have to be very, very gentle or it will cause more inflamation.  I think everyone needs to experiment and decide on their on what duration and intensity they can tolerate of some sort of mechanical manipulation.  The same is true with VED or traction.

Good Luck

I am using now the olive oil as lube inside/outside.
The VED get much less dirty that with the watter soluble lube. The cleaning can be done with soap and a brush used for babies milk bottle cleaning.

goodluck

Thank you for the Kudos.
I have changed the oil from the Extra Virgin (what a name when you have Peyronies) to Light olive oil because the Extra Virgin smells very strong even after you are washing it.
Now seriously, I am using it now as lube only, I didn't had the success that our young member from Libya had using the oil.

"A VED with a motorized pump can be problematic exactly because you can not fine tune the vacuum."

Hawk,

Actually you can. Here's how:

I built a pump that included a an electric value modulator. The device is installed between the pump and the cylinder. You can adjust the modulator so that a certain pressure, the modulator will automatically open and allow the vacuum to escape and then close again. This allows the advantage of a constant free flow of blood into your penis during the process. The only problem is that the pump is in TX at my mothers' house and I'm in CA. My mom doesn't know about my Peyronie's or my pump so I'm trying work up the courage to tell her where it is and to send it.  :)

Old Man:

Thanks but she'll know I'm lying since I don't have a car.  ;)

Also, it's in a Louis Vuitton suitcase with a whole bench of porn, vibrators, cock rings, etc. so asking for just the pump isn't gonna work.

I have to pay to have her ship the whole suitcase in a box to me which is gonna be rather expensive.

I'll keep everyone updated on my progress to bring my box o' porn home to me.  ;D

It may be cheaper, easier and less stressfull to buy a new VED.

Plus you don't have to lie or talk about it.

I really want that device because I spent a lot of money building it and it's an incredible pump. It's one of a kind. It has a vacuum modulator that automatically opens and closes the vacuum in the cylinder bringing in fresh blood constantly. I'll upload pictures of it once I get it back.
