heat exacerbating scars?

I took a hot bath with epsom salts last nights and I noticed that some of my plaques--the long, cord-like ones--were more pronounced while I was in the hot water. They were much more obviously palpable than usual and I could notice more of them than I can usually find by touch. Also, the most pronounced scars were perceptible by sight, which they usually aren't.

I wonder if the heat is exacerbating the plaque?

A lot of respected people on here say that heat is good for plaque reduction, even in the acute phase.
My intuition is that in the acute or inflammatory phase heat would be bad because it would exacerbate inflammation.

Thoughts on this?

Since heat is well regarded, I thought taking a hot bath with epsom salts would be good, but maybe it might make it worse?

Heat definitely can make things worse if over done in temperature or duration.  I had to take a break from the heating pad/rice sock for a while, but once whatever flare up was down I was able to resume with it. But even then only when things were achy / pinchy / stingy, etc from the peyronie's inflammation.

Cooking your balls is not a good idea, like possible permanent size reduction type of not a good idea. Heat is only going to help if you can localise it.
This is an emotionally destructive condition, we all have it, let's be nice to each other.

Why would heating balls cause size loss?

Heat in general can make the deformity APPEAR worse after, or used to for once in a while. But I think out of the hundreds of times I've used the rice sock, I only had 2 or 3 times when it just didn't seem to help. Too high heat and too long may be a bad idea.
