Need Advice

I found out some disturbing news recently and I really need advice. For any that have read my history, I was diagnosed back in December of 2018 with a lateral curve to the left. Starting in March of 2019, I went ahead and started L-Argine and Pentox, cialis, and started using Restorex. At that time I also got a Penile Duplex which confirmed fibrotic plaque. I went through Xiaflex all last year, while continuing to use Restorex and supplements. Sometime after my last round in December, I began to see a decrease in curvature. I was originally diagnosed with a 45 degree bend. After treatment it was 31 degrees. I've been happy with the results. The strange thing is, it also seemed that overall my penis was getting smaller.

I had my follow up Penile Duplex in February. The results: the plaque on my left was still there, and calcified. PLUS now I have second calcified plaque on my right side ( I posted both below).

Hawk has mentioned that new plaque on the opposite side of where a penis curves can some times act like a "plication" - tethering the penis to be more straight. I wonder if that has happened here. I've lost a good half inch of length, plus a quarter inch in girth, during this roller coaster ride of this disease. This change was sudden too, which I thought was strange. And what was interesting is that during my office visit with my doctor, he only talked about the improvement in the bend - nothing about my test results. To be honest, they weren't posted to my portal until after my last visit. I even asked him if the plaque had gotten bigger. He said no.

So the question is.....what now? If I can produce that much plaque in under a year - and watch my penis shrink as a consequence - what could happen by the end of THIS year? At this point, I'm thinking that I should look at an implant before I get more plaque and it gets worse. I'm curious if others have made the decision to go right to an implant due to Peyronie's progression, despite having good erectile function?

I'm in same boat as you. Everyone says don't get implant but I'm worried about progression.

I think I'm going to book a consultation with Dr. Eid at some point in the future. I really would like answers on how an implant (if possible) halts further size loss if the plaque continues to grow. I can tell that if I had just gotten an implant to correct my 45 degree bend I might still have more length. And of course, I would likely have kept my girth.

I'm still doing traction ( 90 mins a day with Restorex), but this can't be a long term strategy if it's only a "holding action"

Excellent idea to get a consult from Dr Eid.  My sense is he will def let you know what is best for you whether it means surgery business for him or not!  Keep us posted.

This guy in exact same boat as me and you all told me not to get implant and you're telling him to lean in that direction. I don't get it. He never mentioned impotence. So why encourage him to go the implant route?

Hi Samsung,

Just to verify, I don't have impotence. I'm taking Cialis and get erections quiet easily. Even before starting Cialis I could get erect (except for that period of time when I was on metropol for blood pressure). I think there have been other people who can get erections who still get an implant, if for no other reason than to fix their curve. Based on what I've seen from the photos, implants alone do an excellent job in that area.

I think I'm in that unlucky group that saw substantial progression after the actue phase. Thank God, there hasn't been real pain like in Oct - Dec of 2018. Still, like you I'd like to see what my options are for a permanent solution. I also confess to being jealous of those with an implant who get full function back without fear of an injury. If it's one thing I'm concerned about....it's further damage.

Hi Samsung, I supported him in getting a consult w Dr Eid, which I would say the same for you. I trust he'll give the best advice on how to proceed even if it not an implant.
