Penile Revascularization
« on: June 14, 2010, 08:49:54 PM »

Hello,
I am writing to see if anyone on this forum has undergone surgery for penile revascularization.  Today I underwent a penile blood pressure test and found out that my Erectile Dysfunction is caused by damaged arteries. (I think from mountain biking)  Basically I have lower pressure in my penis than the rest of my body...

There is a surgery to fix this, but I would love to hear from anyone who has done so.
Thanks,

SSmithe

I have not heard of anyone here complaining of that.

Perhaps there are discussion boards about this elsewhere? A VERY good micro-technique vascular surgeon would seem to be in order - but if you have a distinct area of blockage, it should be fixable.  Good luck!

I have heard of it and discussed it with my doctor. He said that it has been tried but it was not successful.

If the Erectile Dysfunction pills do not help then you may be in line for a penile implant. I had mine over 21 months ago and now everything works great.

I think it's the same story as the venous ligation surgery.
Doc's say it ain't succesful. But you have to see everything within it's context. A LOT depends on the quality and degree of specialisation of the surgeon. If succes rates generally are let's say 40%, with a good surgeon it could be 70-80% or more.
