Hi,
I'm here to learn about Peyronies.  I turned 50 this summer and enjoy excellent health.  I run 4-6 days a week, play racquetball and try to eat a healthy diet.  My wife and I have a great sex life and have no problem 'taking care of myself' if she is not available.

Three weeks ago my wife and I were having sex, being tired, I asked her if she wanted to take a turn on top.  After a few minutes of her on top, my penis slipped out and when she came down, it bent my member about 1/3 down from the head.  That was painful, I knew something bad had happened.  I stopped for a minute, gathered my thoughts and finished.  My plan was to give my penis a weeks vacation to heal from any possible damage.

Eight days later I was on an out of town business trip, before going to sleep at the hotel I decided to masturbate and check things out down stairs. To my horror, my erection had a 30+ degree bend in the shaft about 1/3 of the way down from the head.  I freaked out and was upset.  My erection has always had a banana curve to it, but this is crazy.  I'm fairly sure that I did not 'break' my penis, no bruising and everything looks the same flaccid.

Monday afternoon I have an appointment with my GP doctor.  I want to get evaluated and see what his thoughts are about getting my erection back to a more normal state.  I have no idea what to expect with the examination? I can feel what I think is plaque at the trauma site.  Being a guy, I want to make sure that I can have a good sex life.  I'm too young and healthy to let this condition get to the point of ED, or painful erections.

Here we go,
Jeff

Arm yourself with as much knowledge of penis anatomy and this condition as possible.  Find a Urologist near you who specializes.  Immediately consider selectively adding supplements to your diet to help keep whatever scarring your injury introduced to a minimum.  Consider Magnesium Chloride, as most of us a a bit deficient due to modern farming practices and deficiency is common to most "fibrosis" conditions.

Hi Jeff,

An unfortunate welcome to the club....

You sound exactly the same as me. I am a very healthy 50 yr old. Weightlifter all my life. Very healthy diet. Supplements on top that all my life. I am am an extreme snowboarder and downhill mountain bike racer ...... so there is nothing "old" about me. I probably have the body and life of a 35 yr old !!

YET .......... I have this nightmare and got it the same way as you. There is a shed load of info on here. It has been very useful to me and it is the easiest way to know what to do to get started with the best course of action.

Good luck !

Went to my GP doctor on Monday, got a basic examination of my penis and he said that I have Peyronies.  Dr. referred me to a Urologist who works with Peyronies patients.  My GP is friends with this Urologist and said he would get me an in as soon as possible.

I got an appointment two days later with the specialist.  Walking into the professional building, I see that I'm going to a Sexual Health Clinic, nice way to deflate the ego.  I filled out a questionnaire regarding testosterone, sleep, erections, pain, sex and general health.  Urologist reviewed and typed my story of injuring my penis into electronic medical record.  Then doctor did extensive testicular exam, hernia check and then manipulated penis from base to head.  Second opinion, Peyronies.  Doctor talked to me about all my options and timelines. After exam, I went to different part of the clinic to get blood test to check my testosterone level.

Urologist had his scheduling nurse call me to set up appointment to come back in two weeks to Doppler my penis. This test is to set baseline for size and angle.  Nurse confirmed this procedure is scheduled for an hour.  They will examine and measure the penis flaccid first, then give an injection that causes one to get an erection.  Dr. will take additional measurements, then I will need to wait until erection goes down before they will let me go back to work.

Hope I'm in the group of patients that everything heals without surgery, or injections.

Sounds like you have a good Urologist, at least from the taking it seriously and properly determine exactly what is going on aspect.  Let us know his treatment recommendations.  Seriously consider Magnesium supplementation...Citrate or Chloride seem to be the better readily available ones.  I've noticed improvement with a Urethral scar in only a month, and I'm very hopeful that other scarring will be minimized after a while more.
