Hello all.

Thanks for all of the amazing information.

February of this year (2014) while receiving a blow job I noticed that when my penis was being pulled downwards, it hurt a bit. Didn't think more of it.  Masturbating about two weeks later I thought, Hmm....I can't move this as well as I used to..and...doesn't it seem a bit shorter..and..what's with this "hinging" effect towards the base?

Spent the next 36 hours on this forum. Self-diagnosed and made an appointment with Dr. Fred Grossman here in Denver. (research shows that he is a colleague and friend of Dr. Levine in Chicago..where I just moved from).

Dr. Grossman says I have a "mild" case and on initial inspection thought that Xiaflex wouldn't be necessary. Second visit he said he would send it in to insurance to see what they thought.  I haven't heard anything since. Another appt in August.

BUT, I can tell this is getting worse. Perhaps I am in the acute phase?  I am on injectable T every week, an anti-estrogen pill once/month, 5mg of daily cialis daily, and that other, 3x/day med for anti-scarring.

I have no trouble getting and maintaining erections.  I'm 49.  I also have HIV (with amazingly good numbers, too!)

VED was only covered to the tune of $8 from my insurance, so I'd have to shell out $492 for whatever version he has (not sure).

That's my story. Learning more every day, but definitely want to get something concrete going soon.

Thanks everyone.

a VED is only 60 - 80 dollars, do not spent that much! You should avoid motor types and use a manual pump. The Augusta manual pump is the most popular around here and it works great.

In my case it took over a year for the disease to stop progressing, then it slowly started getting better. You may want to avoid pentox if you are HIV positive but I don't know much about that. I'd suggest starting CoQ10 or Uniquinol 300mg a day.

NeoV,

I will get some ubiquinol soon.  It is actually something that many hiv patients take for cellular health anyway. As far as pentox/Trental goes, I haven't found anything stating it is contraindicated yet.

Thanks!

Pentox is known to weaken the immune system. This is the reason you have to check with your doctor if to use it or not.

Hmmm...I've seen no data on that, but I will be certain to email my GP now. Thank you!
