Hello everyone,

I'm fairly new to the site but I have been reading thru the forum for about a week now. There is definitely a lot to absorb here but I'm glad to see that there is such a support group available and active. Most of my online research has been dead ends of random old articles regarding peyronies disease and or implants and believe it or not, many did not lead me here...I stumbled onto this site.

From what I've read it seams most causes and or results of injury that lead to scaring and curving tend to be labeled as a form of Peyronies Disease. Here's my case,

I live in Costa Rica, I'm 43 years old and about 8-9 months ago I suffered what I would call (or the doctor) a minor penile fracture during intercourse while my wife was on top... I say minor because there was only slight pain no popping sound and no external signs of injury and no bruising that could be seen at the time so I did not seek any medical attention...to jump backwards a bit I had noticed a slight indentation midway up my shaft about 2 years ago on what was always a pretty straight erection at the time, and then one day I woke up to a penis that now had a slight curve to the right...maybe 10% - 15%....the fracture or trauma occurred at the location of this indentation and curving. Over the course of weeks and maybe months my penis was slightly sore and I started to feel a slightly hard nodular lump forming although the pain was noticeable it wasn't enough to refrain from weekly intercourse with my wife. I had spoken with a doctor friend of mine on the phone in the states and he said it sounded much like bruising and that it would heal on itself over time. First it appeared as if it straightened out but then I noticed my erections were not getting full and the gland was less erect also.....long story short the curve is now maybe 20%+ and my erection is half as hard and about 2" shorter. From the indentation down is normal but above is at 50%...even with 100ml Viagra I cannot get fully hard. I always had better results with Cialis but since the Viagra produced little results I decided not to bother spending money on the Cialis ...if I apply restriction at the base the upper half gets harder but at the indentation there is very little rigidity and during any penetration it easily wants to bend over...

The loss of length is obviously from the injury up and within this area my penis now has about 15% more girth when erect which appears to be a combination of the scarring, tissue and blood and now, even when flacid, I can visually tell there is a scar/plaque lump inside...obviously the scar tissue is restricting the blood needed for a full erection or the tissue just will not stretch out and is bunched up.

I have been to a urologist here and have had an ultrasound which shows the lump. Normal blood flow to my penis is fine and only the blood flow for the erection is compromised at this point. So my problem is not just curving but also ED...I'm sure the stress of my injury/disease is not helping much in this area but I had already adopted the "use it or lose it" belief so I have been active in initiating erections as much as possible and as firm as possible for good or bad at this point.

I have read quite a bit here on treating the plaque issue but my case seems to be more than just curving of the penis. Here seems to be my dilemma. I have insurance (coverage is only here in Costa Rica) and have been approved for the AMS 700 LGX implant. Here in Costa Rica they do not offer any other surgery/treatment for this injury or disease outside of telling you to take vitamin E. I was planning a trip to the states to see a urologist there but truthfully I do not believe I will have the resources financially to get complete treatment there...just a second opinion.

I generally have a fairly positive outlook on most things in life and take things for what they are good or bad. I have 2 beautiful daughters and their health and future are always my priority now. I tent to feel sex in general is not as much a priority in life as it was when I was in my 20's and 30's but if there are options to fix things why not do what is available. It seems there are a lot of positive people on this site...willing to offer insight and hope. I am not scared of surgery nor am I scared of the thought of receiving an implant but I know it is not reversible so I'm looking for opinions mainly from those that have implants. It seems the AMS 700 LGX is one of the preferred implants and has a high quality attached?

has anyone heard of doctors in CR qualified for this implant?
How natural are the results?
Do you think I am to young to go this route based on the descriptions of my condition?

CR has some very good private hospitals and some amazing doctors...not necessarily in this specialty maybe but they do offer the implant so someone must be doing the surgeries here. Obviously I will speak in depth with my doctor and ask questions and I will also go for a second opinion as well before moving forward.

Something else to add, I'm in the process of divorcing from my wife...not for this health reason but regardless, I will be single again soon so the challenge of dating again is going to return and sex with someone new will inevitably arise

Sorry if this was long winded :o .............thanks for listening  :-\

Usually implant is considered as last resort, not first because in an one way ticket.
From the other side, the AMS 700 LGX is one of the best implants as it expands during time in length and girth.
For other questions regarding AMS 700 LGX try at:
Penile Implant
You may consider also oral treatments and VED before doing an implant.
