Not sure if I have Peyronies

What is the most DEFINITIVE way to get a sure diagnosis of this mysterious condition? An MRI?

Everything I have read here indicates acting quickly is the way to go, and I'd like to do so if I do in fact have Peyronies but both urologists I have seen have said they do not think I have Peyronies, of course neither inspected my penis.

I have had Chronic Prostatitis (or CPPS symptoms) for years, on and off. A few months ago I noticed that my nocturnal erections all but ceased. Erections that I did wake up with were semi-erect, and oddly shaped, usually a left curve but also some coke-bottle shapes and some instances of soft glans. Sometimes they are straight but just really weak. When I have gotten full erections they have been straight, but they are few and far between. My flaccid penis leans to the left sometimes, other times it is straight but kind of short tough and rubbery. I am shorter than I was 6 months ago, and more retracted. There definitely appears to be a blood flow issue and/or tissue change. Of course some CPPS folks think the whole thing could be muscular in nature

My ejaculation burns but that is not new. So I already have issues, but also some new symptoms that I don't understand. The problem is that when I see doctors they are focused on my frequent urinations (old symptom) and want to give me antibiotics, which has failed over and over. The one Uro wants to do a cystoscopy, and is convinced that will lead us to the source of the ED issue. That doesn't make sense to me. My urination issues come and go. My ED came on at once and hasn't ceased.

Can Peyronies manifest mainly as ED in some cases?

I did not have any incident of injury that I recall and I do not have any real penile pain. I'm 37.

And to my first question, if I want to "know", what should I be asking for? An MRI? Can this be done flaccid? I do not want any injections. Please don't just tell me to go see a Uro ASAP to ease my mind... I need to be able to go to a Uro armed with the right questions as I'm sure many of you know just showing up doesn't do squat.

I'm tired of wasting my infrequent opportunities to actually have sex by inspecting myself instead.

Thanks a lot.

Because you have the onset of ED does not necessarily mean you have Peyronies. I would encourage to go to the Wikipedia or Mayo web sites and look up the definition and symptoms of Peyronies disease. There are other things that can cause ED and it is important to get to a proper urologist.

I'm not telling you to go to another doctor, but keep in mind that urologist specialize in urology. Issues of the bladder, kidneys, etc. To know for sure you would need to get to a doctor who is well known that specializes in Peyronies disease and/or male functionality. Most of the well know doctors who treat Peyronies will do an ultrasound in order to clearly diagnose Peyronies.

Thank you. I am scheduled to see a specialist now.

I have read extensively about the condition, including this site. Frankly I just don't know if Peyronie's is a part of what I'm facing or not. I have a lot of indicators but not a lot of the more "textbook" ones. Some days I'm convinced it is, other days not so sure.

Either way I will seek out better information from the appropriate doctor.

Thanks for everything you guys are doing in keeping up this site, glad to know it's here should I need it.

I read back through your first post, and you seem to have more questions about your penis when flaccid than when erect. Your penis when flaccid can be subject to so many variables including, temperature, stress, nerves, etc. I would never be able to tell anyone consistently what my size is when flaccid.

If you are note achieving really strong erections, then maybe it is time to just supplement yourself with Viagra or Cialis. It is very important to make sure you have a strong erection for intercourse in order to AVOID any injury which could trigger Peyronies. I would still encourage you to see a specialist and get checked out, but don't stress over it.

Thanks again. Trying not to stress.

My concerns are only when flaccid because I'm not getting many erections.

I started taking 2.5 mg Cialis nightly this week, and did wake up with erections every morning. They were straight. However, there is a dent on my left side, 2/3 of the way up. It has been there for a few years and I never thought much of it... which seems unfathomable in light of what I've read here, but hindsight is 20/20.

The location of the dent corresponds with the curve I'm seeing when flaccid and semi-erect. I don't recall any injury and I've never had any pain outside of ejaculatory pain which I have also experienced for years and attributed to CPPS.

I understand no one here can give a diagnosis, I am seeing a specialist in 10 days and will be sure to push the issue. The last two Uro's I have seen want to schedule cystoscopies to look for strictures since I have urinary frequency and urgency. I am very hesitant to have anything shoved up there, at least until I find out about these Peyronie's concerns. Especially since my urinary concerns are fairly manageable.
