Hi folks,

Another one bites the dust. I've been reading posts on this forum for about 2 weeks now, and just registered to post.  Thrilled to have found a forum that I can hopefully use to begin my recovery.  I've self diagnosed myself with this awful disease, it appears I have a plaque/scar tissue along the base of my penis, along with indentation halfway up the shaft on both the left and right sides. I've lost about a half inch in length, and some girth but nothing too dramatic.

Age?
22
What did your medical doctor conclude?
Haven't seen one yet, but I plan to soon.
How long have you had symptoms?
7 months.
What are your symptoms?
Pain (which is improving), and a bend of 50 degrees upward from the base of the penis.
What treatments have you tried and what were the results? I am beginning twice a week hyperthermia treatments with mild heat (to prevent further injury or cell necrosis).  I am also considering C010 and Aceytl L-Cartinine. Would like more first hand accounts from people who say this has improved their condition.
Do you have insurance or means to get medical treatment? Yup.
where are you in dealing with the psychological aspects of Peyronies Disease? Better than I was, I've been in a bad mental state the last few months. My biggest worries are never having a "normal" sex life again, or having a loving relationship with a women, that the curvature could get worse, and I continue to have so many regrets about possibly giving myself this disease because of excessive masturbation.  I also regret not seeking a diagnosis and treatment sooner.
Are you in a relationship?
I wish, but it's probably better I don't have one right now considering I'm still in the progressive phase of this disease.

When did your symptoms start? And are you saying that your erection is now curved an additional 50 degrees from what it would be naturally?

My symptoms started last May, 7 months ago.  Started as pain, then progressed to curvature. Yes, an additional 50 degrees upward.  Naturally it stuck out perfectly straight.

Reading this should give you some common background for many of us here. There are different therapies that are recommended. Not one works for everyone, and we encourage men to not "wait and see". It is important to be proactive and aggressive.

I read this before I registered, but thank you!  Just wanted to see if I could get some more advice from people about what to do.

OK, was just checking. Since you've read the introductory post then you know that the recommended choices are either traction or VED therapies. I say therapies because these devices are not commonly marketed for Payronies treatment, and there is a specific regimen to follow to treat Peyronies disease. I have not seen any studies where hyperthermia or heat treatments do any good. So I wouldn't expect to get any responses where people who tried this alone saw any positive results. CoQ10 and Acetyl L-Carnitine are OK, but you need to get more aggressive with VED or traction.

Hope this helps.

Been away from the forum for a little while, but thanks for the encouragement.  I have an appointment with a urologist tomorrow, I'll be sure to report back once our appointment is over.
