I am a 64 year old man that also went from straight to crooked over night. I am so sad. Embarrassed to go to a male urologist. There are no female urologists that specialize in this disorder in the Twin Cities....so I guess I will have to see a male. I don't even see a reason to go in, since there really isn't anything that can be done. What I find weird, is that I have mild pain while flaccid.

Mild pain in flaccid is something I have, and I think many have as well.

It's a bit different for everyone. Going to a urologist can be beneficial if you can get a prescription to pentox, cialis, a VED, or an ultra sound.

I'm sad to hear you have this terrible disease and I hope it get's better. There is hope however, so don't give up and don't be so hard on yourself! This isn't your fault.

The only female urologist that specializes in peyronies is Dr. Kaufman at Vanderbilt in Nashville TN. She was trained by Dr. Douglas Milam. I do know a couple of men that went to her and were happy with there outcome.

That won't help me. I live in Minnesota. We have a couple guys that specialize in Peyronie's.....I guess I will have to bite the bullet and go see one of them.

I also have pain when flacid I am 62. I good urologist will understand and be helpful. Hang in there.

My question is....why does it hurt when the penis is flaccid?

Hey Jakatak! I'm a 53 year old sufferer from the Twin Cities area as well. Sorry we had to meet this way!  :o  :) But the good news is there does seem to hope and there are some great guys on this site to help us cope and search for a solution.

I have what I would classify as discomfort often while flaccid. It is more of an itchy uncomfortable feeling for me than straight up pain but it is certainly NOT fun. It seems many of us have different symptoms just as different methods of treatment work work for some while other methods work for others. The most common successful denominators I've found seem to be Pentox, Cialis and VED (or traction) therapy.

I am actually in-between urologists so to speak. The first one, Dr. Skemp refused to give me prescription for Pentox so I am thinking seriously about trying somebody else. Do you have any local leads? This Dr. Skemp put me on Transdermal Verapamil but from the research I've done around here those with experience seem to think Verapamil is just as much snake oil as it is medicine so I don't have too high of hopes for it. He also gave me Cialis. I'm not having any ED issues yet but many here say Cialis is good therapy.

I'm thinking Mayo Clinic. They must have someone up to speed on what guys are trying and what seems to be successful?

Sent Voulezvous a PM. He is from the Twin Cities and had his surgery by a doctor there. Sorry I do not remember the doctors name.

Dr. Nehra was at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester but has now moved to Chicago.
