Hi everyone.  Fist of all I want to say thanks to everyone for this forum.  It's definitely a great source to research and a huge help.
I had a penile fracture 6 weeks ago while having sex w/ my GF. I went to the emergency room right away and had surgery to repair it about 20 hours later by my urologist.  The recovery process went as well as expected and had a couple follow ups with my urologist and he said things were progressing fine. Until about week 5 I noticed my erection wasn't the same. I hadn't really let myself get an erection until then.  It has a slight indentation on the bottom left & curves downward as a result about 10-15 degrees.  The erection pain in minimal, i would say just uncomfortable.  It's like my penis is being restricted from gaining a full erection.  My doc said that i had developed scar tissue & I probably had Peyronies and that luckily we getting an early start on it.  He prescribed pentoxifylline  3 x's a day.  Also told me to take Vitamin E once a day and at night break open one of the Vitamin E pills and rub the oils on the small areas of hardness on the shaft of my penis @ night before I go to bed.
I'm 36, hispanic, good shape, workout 5x's a week and eat well. I drink plenty of water and don't smoke.
If anybody can offer additional advice or insight I would truly appreciate it and feel free to ask if you want additional information about me.

Welcome to the forum WEstWilly,

First I want to make sure you have read this or we have no starting point.  MUST READ BEFORE YOU POST - Information for new members - Peyronies Society Forums

Next, you can be thankful you had a doctor that knew enough to give you pentox.  They seem to be a rarity.  In fact if you do not want to share his name publicly I hope you will send me a Private message with his name so we can consider adding him to our list of referred doctors.

Also keep in mind that scar tissue and Peyronies Disease are not necessarily the same thing.  You could have non-progressive scar tissue just from a healed fracture.

Finally, I think there is zero evidence vitamin E on your penis will help but the message might.  At least it won't hurt as long as you are not too rough.

Thanks for the reply Hawk.  I will definitely private message you the information right away.

Do you know if there is any way to tell between a non-progressive scar tissue vs Peyronies?  Or eventually be able to tell?

Hawk

Good question WestWilly,  I wish I had a good answer short of - it either progresses or it doesn't.  I am not even sure a top Peyronies doctor could tell in the early stages.  Maybe someone else can give a better answer.

You said that week 5 was the first time since the surgery that you let yourself get a good erection. and then you noticed it wasn't the same. Isn't it logical that this might be a result of the surgery? I find it interesting your surgeon is now blaming this on Peyronies scarring instead of the surgery to repair the fracture.

It is possible that the fracture triggered some Peyronies scarring, but seems quite coincidental to me.

Hi lwillisjr,
I would only get an erection at night in the early stages week 1-3 and it would be painful so I would go to the bathroom and urinate which during that time would alleviate my erection.  It wasn't until week 5 that the stitches were almost all out that i examined my erection. So its possible that I was just "sew'd-up" incorrectly, for lack of a better term?

Clearly what you see could be:
A scar from the fracture
The result of surgery to correct the fracture
Peyronies Disease triggered by the fracture

I understand, thanks for your help.  I'll keep up w/ the treatment and see what happens.  Any addtional information or suggestions of treatment, i would be grateful.  This is tough!!

First off, I should have offered my condolences to your penile fracture. I understand these can be very painful and a difficult recover from the surgery.

Would you say your erection is as firm as it was before the injury?

Is you erection actually curving downward, or is your erection angle lower now that it was before (doesn't point up like it did before the surgery)?

If you have actually developed a Peyronies curve due to the trauma, then I would recommend reading up on the therapies that are recommended on this forum.

Trust me when I tell you we all know it is tough  ;). You will be fine however if you do you best to follow the basics in the link I posted.  You caught this early and got started on pentox.  You are also fairly young so these are all in your favor.  no doubt you are also still healing.  Keep your mental health in order and keep us updated.

I would say my erection is about 90% firm as it was before.

I've only examined my erection on my back so it's hard to tell. I would say it curves slightly down and to the right due to the hardness on the bottom right of my shaft.  But I can pretty much get it to point up as before.

I will definitely keep updating as the weeks pass and document my progress.  Thanks for the help guys, i truly appreciate it.
