Age: 43
Age when I discovered a lump: 37-38
No curve, but narrowing indentation and slight bend upwards about 1 1/2" up from base

It started as a lump in the center of the shaft that didn't seem to affect erections much. Then I noticed some smaller lumps around the head, which have since gone away. The original lump is still there and seems to be the same size.

At 39, I had a sex injury where the base of the shaft was bent forward and the rest bent toward my stomach. It hurt, but the pain subsided within days. Maybe a fracture occurred or plaque began to build up where it was bent, I am not sure. Where it happened, I now have a narrowing indention on the top of the shaft where it was bent and I don't get as hard and can't maintain it like I used to. It is also easy to bend backwards even when erect.

I was too embarrassed to see a doctor or even talk about it with my girlfriend. It started to affect my mental state (also have had some anxiety issues since childhood) and I began drinking quite a bit, which was not good for my penis or the relationship. The relationship ended in January.

Hello all! I have been a member of the forum for a few years now to try and find anything that could help. I have read many posts that give me hope, so thank you. Since the breakup, I have been trying to live a healthier lifestyle. I lost 40lbs and don't drink as much. I am trying to quit completely, drinking as well as chewing tobacco (switched to nicotine pouches and tapering down). I recently met a woman online who I plan to meet in the next few months and don't want my issues with my penis to affect the relationship. I finally made an appointment to see a Urologist, but can't get in to see him until next month. Besides trying to make changes in my lifestyle and hoping it will just go away I have been too afraid to do much. I do take some of the supplements listed here and have tried some stretching exercises, which just seem to cause soreness and almost create some retraction when flaccid. Maybe I am not doing it often enough. I don't want to do anything to make it worse. I have looked into the RestoreX, but it's very expensive and as with the stretching, I fear it could worsen the condition. I'm not sure it would work for how close my indention is to the base either. But, I also recently read a post where it helped a similar condition, except his was towards the head. I've tried to find something like a 2" wide sleeve or ring I could place over the indentation, so maybe it would help me to stay erect as well as protect it from bending during sex. I can tell this woman I have met is very sexual and the likelihood of this just going away in the next month seems very unlikely. And I don't want to disappoint her.

Any advice or help in the right direction would be much appreciated... things to try for my specific indentation, places to look, people to talk to, questions to ask my urologist. I'm very thankful there is a place like this where men can go to for help and encouragement through this, so thank you all so much.

One more question I meant to ask. And, I know,I need to see the Urologist first (he does treat Peyronie's, so hopefully he know the best way to help), but overall, would most people on here recommend traction devices or VED? I have seen positives and negatives for both. More negatives for VED though. Thanks again, and hope to hear any advice.

Welcome RGB77 to the forum and thank you for filling out your signature line. Please download our survival guide and study it -->Survival Guide.

Hopefully you have a peyronies Dr and can get a correct diagnosis. He/she should perform an erect ultrasound to get a clear picture of what is going on. You should make up a written list of questions you would like answered and write down their response.

Traction and VED is a must when dealing with peyronies. The vast majority of men here perform it safely and do receive a lot of improvement from it. The Restorex and the PMP are the two that are used a lot. The PMP is a more gentle pulling force and the glans chamber is a more comfortable gripping force than the Restorex. The Restorex though has an added advantage of counter bending where your deformity is. The Restorex also has a greater pulling force and can be worn for shorter periods of time.

Cialis and like minded ED drugs are employed as well to help with erections but mostly to reduce internal inflammation. Peyronies is a healing disorder run a muck. Reducing inflammation all around is what helps in the long run with healing.

You need to get a control over your anxiety as we all have been down the same road. Worrying about this causes more harm than good. Get a plan and work the plan. Read the forum and study the posts on VED that we use here. You need to adopt the mindset that this is a marathon and not a sprint. It has taken me about 4 years to get back to my original size with traction and VED only.   :)
