Recently diagnosed; unsure about using Restorex traction device

I am 43 years old and first noticed symptoms about four months ago. My erection seemed noticeably shorter. At first I ignored it, then finally measured and it was shorter. My erection has always had a natural curve to the left, but now my whole penis angles off to the left and feels like it's pulling from the base. After about two or three weeks of noticing this, I felt a lump on the left side of my shaft. I've seen two urologists and both diagnosed Peyronies disease. In addition to the lump of plaque on the left, about ⅔ of the way from the base, it seems there is plaque at the base on top and bottom (the urologists mentioned this and I can feel it). I sometimes have pain while flaccid.

I've started taking some supplements, including L-Arginine, Co Q-10, and vitamin E. I don't smoke and don't drink alcohol. I exercise regularly. One of the urologists prescribed 8% Verapamil topical cream; the other urologist told me it doesn't work. I ordered a RestoreX device, but have been reluctant to begin using it. I'm worried about making something worse.

My wife ended our 20-year relationship about a year ago. I've only recently begun thinking about dating again and now this has happened, and I am experiencing some psychological distress and depression.

I am not the most qualified to answer this but I have seen a lot of people talk about how it helps them a lot. Yes at times it could make it worse if you go too hard but I believe most treatments can make it worse have the small risk of potentially making it worse, however, from what I understand most of the time it is when people overdue it. I would just suggest to go as slowwww as possible and track your progress. Start off really slow and don't rush it . It's a marathon not a sprint.

Welcome to the forum!

I have heard both sides, some say that they have been helped even after the acute phase and some say that they started in the acute phase and that it worked well fr them.

Dr Trost claims that is easier to treat a developing curvature rather than an established disease. I recommend you reading what Dr Trost said on the matter in this thread on the forum: https://www.peyroniesforum.net/index.php/topic,16670.0.html

Hope that helps!

Welcome Hermitfrank to the forum.  It sounds like you have an understanding of peyronies and some of it's treatments. If you havn't done so you should study and read the survival guide -->  It is packed with information and you should read it more than once.  https://www.peyroniesforum.net/index.php/topic,3180.0.html .

Then next:  Could you please take a minute to fill out your signature line? It's hard to remember  your case details out of 20,000 members. You can find instructions

In regards to your question I would say it is better to try something than not doing anything.  Traction can prevent size/length loss and help improve erections. Remember gentle and slow at first as you do not want to re injure yourself.  As Chris has stated this is a marathon and not a sprint.

Welcome to the forum HermitFrank,

Traction can be helpful and has been for many men, especially when started within the first months of developing Peyronies Disease symptoms. However, there is no real data on whether it impacts natural curvature.

You must get a diagnosis from a qualified physician specializing in male sexual health or, specifically, Peyronies Disease. Some symptoms might act like Peyronies Disease but be caused by other conditions.

If you consider investing in a traction device, most of us recommend the RestoreX.  It has more documented studies backing it up than any other device and is recommended to be worn only a small fraction of the time recommended with traditional traction devices.
