Hi Everyone, glad to have found this place so hopefully I can get some straight answers and not sales pitches or over the top surgery suggestions.

Age - I am 45

Age at onset of Peyronies Disease / or I have had Peyronies Disease for X Years - This last March of 2020 is when I first noticed.

Very First Symptoms - I think I have had a very slight bend to the left for awhile but during intercourse back in March of this year (2020) was the first time it hurt during sex.

My Peyronies Disease progression, Treatments (in order), Doctors, Psychological Stages, observable changes - Since that initially pain felt during intercourse, it seems like it is curving more to the left, sometime it hurts sometimes it doesn't erection is harder to achieve and maintain but can still function sexually. Currently have an appointment for a Urologist but it is over a month away.

Where I am today, future plans -[/b] Waiting on the Urologist appointment, currently taking Vitamin E supplements (but how much should I be taking?) Now I plan to read this forum and get advice and suggestions on treatments etc.

I do know my father had Peyronies and had surgery years ago ( cant ask him about is as he has passed.) I am looking for any suggestions about what to do before I see the urologist, Going to search the board now for all answers I can find before asking or starting new threads.  Thanks, happy to be here.

Hello Gadsden. Welcome. I think one of the things you will notice first about this board is that Peyroines is extremely variable in how it presents. It reminds of a continuum between 1-10. Some guys have mild cases of it (and are more 1s or 2s) with no pain, no ED, and only a minor bend (20 degrees maybe), and others have extreme cases of it with hour glassing, 90 degree bends, total ED, and a great deal of shrinkage. Others, and probably most fall between these extremes.

Most urologists will straight away put you in Cialis or Viagra, whether you need it or not, and Pentoxifyllin, which is just a blood thinner for pain from peripheral artery disease. But, it has no proven benefit.  Plus, there are numerous other supplements and things prescribed but likewise none have any truly proven benefit, including Vitamin E.

At the end of the day, real treatment options, if you feel it is bad enough to need treatment, and most men do, consist of Xiaflex with traction or surgery, and Cialis or Viagra, at least to keep a strong blood flow going. Or some combination thereof. That's about it.

I favor the genetics plus repetitive micro-trauma theory of causation. It's cause may be unknown, but genetics and some sort of trauma to the tunica make the most sense to me. My dad had it too.
