Ok a bit bugged out so im here.

57 years old 5'11" 185 lbs slightly overweight. Diagnosed diabetic T2, 2 years ago and also on high blood pressure meds.

After getting on low carb diet my diabetes is pretty much reversed as long as I dont eat carbs. Not on any Diabetes meds or statens. BP is under control by meds, Losaratan and Amloadapene.

Woke up 2 weeks ago to my penis with a bit of a smaller girth near the base. And it hinges left, right or straight up. Doesnt hurt, dont really feel any scar tissue. Still get very hard morning wood. Urination is fine. I dont remember injuring it.

I do know the night before I had on tight underwear and when I sleep I usually get hard in the morning because I have to pee so I will reach down and pull my penis up towards the top of my underwear to the band as i sleep on my stomach a bit. This way its not poking into the mattress and I can sleep a bit longer...

So when I finally got up to pee I know it was pushed hard against my underwear. thats all I can think of. And prob not an injury, who knows,

I go to the urologist next week to see. Anyone know what to expect?

And does hinging usually mean I have this disease or could it be something else? I keep seeing here that people pull or use traction for 4 hours a day for years to fix it. Wow, seriously?

Is this going to get worse, how do you fix hinging?  Do i really need to get injections? Hate needles. uhg...

I sound whiney i know, just bugged about it.

Hi Maximus,

Not sure what you mean by hinging. But, mine came on overnight in 2015. Woke up with the usual morning wood one morning and noticed a slight bend to the right. I thought maybe I had slept on it or something. So, I waited a week thinking it would go away. When it didn't, I ran off to Kaiser and an internist examined it and diagnosed Peyroines. Later I insisted on being referred to urology. This woman urologist diagnosed the same thing: Peyroines. And at age 56 I was right at the age for it. Plus, I found out later my dad had it, so it runs in the family.

They gave me pentox for it, which did nothing and Viagra, which I didn't need anyway, since I didn't have ED.  I asked for an outside referral to Dr Lue, a Peyroines specialist at UCSF because I thought Xiaflex was the answer. I wasn't a Xiaflex candidate but Dr Lue mentioned a surgery using alloderm, a de-cellularized human cadaver tissue with the DNA removed so you can use it to transplant internal skin without your body rejecting it. I passed on the surgery not knowing much about it. Now I am returning to Dr. Lue for further consult. Glad to answer any questions.

Hinging meaning it flops back at the base like its on a hinge....Did your insurance cover any of this? I dont even want to think about what an injection into my penis would be. Did they have to inject you to diagnose? Can you take pictures in, how does that work?

Thanks for replying....Sucks because I just got engaged to an amazing woman....
