Hey guys, I'm a 29 yr old in the US, thank you first of all for having this great place where we can come to deal with this issue together. I first noticed some slight pain and a small hard bump in the middle of my penis about 10 months ago (felt almost like a tiny pebble on top of my urethra when flaccid). There was no traumatic event, but my family does have a history of auto-immune diseases. Due to being out of country, lack of medical coverage and what I had read online, I decided to give the condition some time to see if maybe it just went away as in Jan/2016 the pain was very mild and there was no visible impact to erection. Now 10 months later the pain is slightly stronger and there is no some noticeable curvature. The curvature has been very hard to track as I have congenital penile curvature which has always given my penis a slight banana like curve upward (Somewhere between 10-15% gradual degree). At this point I would say that curve is now closer to 25-30%ish and a little more focused towards the tip rather than as gradual as before. It is still fully functional and pain is not enough to stop activity/orgasm. Admittedly I still need to see a Urologist and get the technical diagnosis and input. I am currently registering for health insurance and likely going to select an expensive gold plan assuming I will be utilizing specialists a lot and a smaller deductible will be beneficial.

My questions given that info are:

-What route would those of you who are vets take given this current standing? My biggest concern is that, while not ideal, this is livable at my current condition and I have some fears that excessive treatments, VED, traction, etc. may worsen the condition.
-Should I try to get on Pentox as quickly as possible or wait for urologist consult?
-Have you guys found more use/exercise to be beneficial or negative?

My initial work/plans going forward have been to take all of the natural/otc things I can get: ALCAR, CoQ10, Arginine, etc., stick with an anti-inflammatory diet as I have been, continue exercising, start to limit alcohol and caffeine intake, begin mild stretching exercises. It would be a dream if I could catch this early on, but given the progression, while slow, the last 10 months, I'm concerned it may continue to worsen. Obviously being only 29 I am still focused on potentially having a family, etc. I really want to thank everyone again. I have been lurking the last month and just wanted to finally put myself out there.

Welcome NDCPey, your story reflects mine, I am 54 Years old, soon to be 55.
I have always had a gradual congenital curve then suddenly awoke with a 25-30 degree dorsal bend just below the glans, a small nodule is visible on top, no traumatic event caused it. I think during normal use your penis gathers 'micro' traumas which then 'gives' as we age IMHO  :(

It does puzzle me that only about 10% get this condition, I personally think, due to embarrassment, that it is much more.

I believe Pentox is the go to supplement medication for Peyronies, I have never tried it however, This medication is used to improve the symptoms of a certain blood flow problem in the legs/arms (intermittent claudication due to occlusive artery disease). Pentoxifylline can decrease the muscle aching/pain/cramps during exercise, including walking, that occur with intermittent claudication.

I use L-Citrulline as a blood thinner, L-Citrulline converts in the body to L-Arginine via your Kidneys and then into NO (Nitric Oxide), blood vessels use Nitric Oxide to signal a compound called cyclic GMP (cGMP). and yes it helps  :)

Can I offer a word of caution regarding exercise, I used to exercise to what I now realise was 'extreme' levels between the ages 30-40, somehow, and I don't know how I think this led to adrenal fatigue  :(, I still exercise but mildly and just a couple of times a week now. Exercise of course though is beneficial, it's just too easy to go overboard with it!

Another supplement IMHO is is a waste of time that is Vitamin E , although it can also thin the blood, there are of course many more supplements members are taking and will recommend, just don't expect a magic pill cure at present until some breakthrough occurs, right now there is much talk on Bromelain (an extract from Pineapple stems) that is anti-fibrotic due to enzymes in it, enzymes for me however are very interesting topic that I am investigating more on.

Do all you can to minimize stress in your life as I feel it plays a major role in Peyronies and having a good stable outcome from reducing stress.

Welcome to this 'club' that none of us wanted to be in and please keep posting  :)

Thank you for your input, I really appreciate it! How long have you been living with the condition? It sounds as though yours has stabilized at his 25-30%?

Paolo

NDCPey, this is about the 5th Year with Peyronie's, it has been stable for at least 18 Months, so not so bad although I would like to see a lesser curve when erect, thanks for your post Nonsurgical treatment options in Peyronie's Disease: 2016 update  :)

NDC -- I want to say up front that it is obvious you are reading, researching, and getting informed. This is awesome and I commend you. Don't take my comments as being critical in any way. In a public forum, where all sorts of interruptions and tangents occur in a thread, I try to be as direct as possible to cut through the misinformation that invariably surfaces.

Congenital curvature isn't the same thing as Peyronie's -- though the end visual results are just about the same.

No amount of sex or extracurricular activity ever did one thing to alleviate my congenital curvature -- evident from my first boner during puberty. If anything, I felt that years of living may have in fact matured the healthy cavernosa (in my case that was the one on the left side), further pushing my curve to the right (thanks to the recalcitrant cavernosa on the right side).

That's what congenital curvature is: One of the cavernosa is not as long as the other. Where I started with a 10 degree curve at age 13, by age 55 my own curve was at the 35 degree mark.  >:(

I had to form an  X  over my woman to have sex, so yes sex was possible. But, my own male ego was humiliated at that point which began to contribute to cause dysfunction (ED).  :o >:(

I did not have Peyronie's at any point leading up to the year 2016 when I finally found the will to a) talk about it with a professional, and b) do something about it. Being male I was at a decided disadvantage of being mature earlier and actually showing a doctor my curved dick O.o

I'm not aware of a single instance where any of the myriad alternative therapies ever did squat to cure that short chamber of it's condition.

Is it possible that your congenitally curved dick is now complicated by Peyronie's? That's what you're suggesting, I think. And, it seems possible. To the extent that you could possibly find some benefit from alternative therapies addressing Peyronie's I suppose these treatments could be worth considering -- in relation to the Peyronie's portion of the visual.

Because my curved dick was congenital, and because I did not have any plaques anywhere in my dick, I chose surgery in June 2016. I had Nesbitt plications, as have many thousands of men before me. And, with equally wonderful results. My story is embedded in the tagline link under my signature (in tiny print). It is easy for sufferers of Peyronie's to take a dim and boisterous anti-surgery view here on the Forum, but they never walk in the shoes of a man with congenital curvature. Never. So, bear that in mind. Also, this isn't the Dark Ages, and many thousands of penile surgeries are performed each year by some world class surgeons who value and appreciate male sexual function and who have become superb experts in the field. (The Forum will help you identify the imposters, those who merely want to experiment on your dick and the consequences be damned. These butchers do exist. They they exist creates no different peril than this: If you drive a car you can get in a wreck and possibly careen over a cliff or get T-boned by a drunk, but you drive anyway -- exercising care. Likewise, a man can take the time and care to navigate surgical interviews, swerving away from the butchers and identifying the go-to experts. The Forum has plenty of opinions about these, too. If you PM me, I'll send you my own shortlist of the experts I would give my dick to any day of the week).

That said, I have never suffered from Peyronie's thus I cannot personally speak to the efficacious effect, if any, of all the alleged therapies. The male sexual health specialists I've spoken with in the U.S. all ask basically the same question: Where are the headline making YouTube videos of the success stories from these so-called alternative treatments? Hmmm? Lots of years, tears, and dollars devoted to those therapies by many a man -- and more likely than not a worsening of condition, if not a very precarious outcome that feels like one's dick is being held together by toothpicks and rubberbands. Usually, the precarious outcome sounds like: one wrong move and you're toast. Or, your dick is broken -- again. Like I said, I haven't suffered from Peyronie's, so that's just my tit for tat here on the Forum.

How are my results any different? a) I owned my situation and invested in a half dozen visits to that many urologists. This was how I began the process of sorting those who could from the wannabes. You only get one dick. Guard it like gold. b) I eventually consulted high-volume penile specialists (which means they work with hundreds of men a year, year after year) -- as opposed to the urologist who would love to have you as his fourth or fifth victim). c) Before and after surgery I took full responsibility for my care and sexual behavior (a post-surgery factor). I'm approaching the seven month mark, my dick is straight, my stallion confidence is back, I have the most satisfying sex EVER in my life -- both for me and my woman. My dick and pelvic region do not hang precariously between too much or too little of anything. I get as much as time and life allow! hehe

You can PM me if you have specific questions.

Best to you,

John
