I am 56 years old and I have just started a treatment course of Xiaflex.  Here is my story:

I'm not really sure how my injury was sustained.  My best guess is that last Valentine's Day, after a decent amount of champaign, my wife and I engaged in some very vigorous reverse cowgirl sex.  This was great, but something happened that made me wince with pain.  It quickly subsided and we were able to continue. Later in the Spring I noticed very mild pain with erections, a little distracting but never so much as to make me want to quit having sex.  I chalked it up to just getting older and stuff not working as well as it used to.  I later noticed that the pain was becoming more distracting and even receiving oral sex was becoming difficult to just relax and enjoy.

Things started changing quickly in early August.  My wife and I got a little frisky on the pool deck one day and she announced that I had an upward bend in my penis.  I always had a bit of banana curvature so it didn't look that different to me.  A week later on a romantic vacation she said she really thought I had a bend, but I still wasn't sure.  A little bit of research and further investigation and by mid-August I was convinced that I did have Peyronies Disease.  My family doc confirmed it and got me a referral to a Urologist, but it took about 2 months to get seen.  This was very difficult and was certainly impacting our sex life because of concerns about further damage.  The Urologist was cool but he recommended Xiaflex treatment and he is not trained to do it so he referred me to a specialist 4 hours away.  Another 6 week wait to be seen.  Between August and December my curvature went from almost nothing to about 45 degrees upward about halfway down my shaft.

We found that  mutually satisfying sex was possible with the 45 degree bend but a little trickier because it would tend to pop out if thrusting action got more vigorous.  Also there is the psych concern about further damage and performance issues.

I was finally scheduled for my first course right before Christmas but we took it because we didn't want to postpone treatment any longer.  The doctor was great, funny, and very experienced.  I can only describe the experience as very surreal. My wife is a nurse so she insisted on being with me the whole time which was great.  The procedure involved getting 2 injections of viagra directly into my penis. the pain was no big deal. The stress of the situation was such that I couldn't get an erection even with viagra on board so doc asked me to masturbate to help.  This was weird to say the least. the doc and his resident then marked my erect penis so as to select the best location for the Xiaflex injections.  The doc's office is at a major teaching university so he was actually training residents in the procedure, which is also great but dang'd if they weren't all beautiful young women!  If I was to describe the whole procedure as a dream to a psychologist I'm sure they would conclude I have severe psych issues!  But I digress.

I think the procedure went very well.  My modeling was delayed a bit because I was very bruised and sore and we had a house full of family during the holiday.  My doc recommended traction devices so I have been working up from 1 hour to 8 hours a day and have had no problems yet after 1 week.  I'm not sure how this is going to go when I am at work for 8-10 hours a day starting tomorrow, but I'm cautiously optimistic that I will have a good outcome.

Your initial symptoms sound like so many others here. Essentially an overnight curvature. Mid shaft and dorsal (upward) is very typical.
Sorry you have joined our club but sounds like you are on the right track for therapy.
