Hi all
Found this forum by chance today after searching the internet over the past few weeks. I'm 49 from the UK.
Discovered a pea sized lump in the centre left side of my penis that seems to spread around laterally to the underside. Not painful but uncomfortable when I get an erection. Haven't tried intercourse as It'd be too uncomfortable I think. No bend yet, is this always inevitable?
Visited my family doctor (GP over here) who had a feel, thought it was nothing too serious but has referred me to a surgeon!!?, which is a bit of a worry. Didn't mention Peyronies but I'm pretty sure it is, hope I'll get referred to a Urologist at some future date for a proper diagnosis to be made.
Have taken the advice regarding vitamin supplements.
Was feeling pretty low until I read the advice on this and the simple fact that I'll be doing something to help has raised my spirits a bit.
Does anyone know if there's a drug available for use in the UK, and if so should I be trying to arrange a urology appointment sooner?
Cheers in advance for any advice.

Hi Oakley,

Did your GP mention what kind of surgeon? I believe most, if not all, UK urologists are surgeons. I believe you may have already been referred to a urologist.

Unfortunately you can expect quite a wait on the NHS and not all urologists know too much about peyronies. Consider going private - your waiting times will be reduced considerably and you can choose a urologist who has an interest in peyronies, even if they are outside of your area. Bear in mind Peyronie's best tackled early on while it is in the acute phase.

Annoyingly, not many - if any - urologists in the UK are willing to prescribe the drugs (namely pentox) that are popular on the forum. You can buy it here www.riverpharmacy.ca. The company is based in Canada, but the pills come from India. They will take about 3 weeks to arrive. I recently started using them myself. Just made my third order yesterday - all very good.

Good luck

NHS urologists were a waste of time IME, I went to The London Andology Clinic. They were brilliant in helping me with this cruel affliction.
Happy to chat to anyone who would like more details of my journey so far, on here or on the phone

Reply to J-A how expensive is London Andrology and what have they suggested so far.
I've got a follow up appointment 3 months after last one with my NHS urologist.
But he is definitely old school, and thinks Vit E and wait and see approach is best.
Sent him email requesting script for Pentox he said get it from River Pharmacy if I thought it would work, he wasn't convinced  I did. I also went to my GP who is a little more helpful and he gave me a prescription for pentox, which is loads cheaper. But money is tight and I am trying everything got single tube VED but it's finding time.
Have about 49 degree upward bend, pain has got better since on pentox.

Last time I spoke to Dr Kuehhas from London Andrology,
He pointed out that the clams of author of the initial publications on pentox has faked the
results.

Also people on this board keep saying how terrible the NHS is and go to the London Andrology.
Not everyone can afford to do so, I had to take a loan out for my treatment there (Stage) and then had to stop because I couldn't afford anymore treatments and had to go back to the NHS.

If your on the NHS ask to be referred to Mr David J Ralph team under the UCLH, its in London so there's still some travel expense.

You may not be seen by Mr Ralph, but by a member of his team.
When you go in, go in armed with as much research as possible.
If there's a type of treatment you want to try, tell them, believe they were doing trials with Xiaflex.

They are your best bet on the NHS.

Not saying don't go to the London Andrology if you can afford it, the service is like night and day when compared to the NHS. But that's because you paying for it, if I had the money I would of cause stayed with Dr Kuehhas.

But just because I can't afford him, I'm not going to sit at home because of some bad experiences with the NHS.

I'm going for a implant with the NHS in August due to ongoing ED issues.

If I had stayed will Dr Kuehhas I would have to pay £4000 to try a cure (sclerotherapy) which may or may not work. Then if it didn't I could try shock wave therapy which is I think about £2000.

Before going back to the idea of an implant which is on the London Andrology website is £9000-£15000.

I apologize, I don't know your country flag of origin. But, if you're willing to travel to England, then also other countries?

If so, three of the leading male sexuality surgeons (which distinguishes them from being mere urologists) are in the U.S.

One in Orange, California, one in Baltimore, Maryland, and one in Seattle, Washington.

I've been in touch with all three. I ended up traveling to the one in Seattle (June 2016) because he was covered by my medical insurance. But, all three had comparable rates, and I would have gladly entrusted my dick to all three.

And, all three share the same philosophy:  They verbalize their passion for every man to have a perfect dick, to be able to have a fantastic sex life, and leverage any length and girth they can deliver. They are not embarrassed to say these things, which is another feature that sets them apart from 99% of other urologists. They've completed thousands of procedures to help men with their sexual goals and function. It's what they do   8)

PM me if you're interested, as there are a few more details I can share.
