Hi all,

I am 31, from Perth, Western Australia. Stumbled across this forum after searching for answers with erection deformity. I have an appointment with a Urologist on the 03/11/15 but after reading as many posts as I can about the symptoms and treatment am very confused as to whether I actually have peyronies and whether the Urologist will even be able to help. The doctor's specifically mentioned for Australia in this thread (https://www.peyroniesforum.net/index.php/topic,4063.0.html) seem to be anti-aging specialist rather than peyronies experts...

Anyway, here is my story, any thoughts / advice would much appreciated.

Approximately 2 years ago I distinctly remember not being able to get an erection for about 2 weeks after masturbating while flaccid (don't ask me what I decided to do that), everything returned to normal after, so thought nothing of it. On and off for the next year (in hindsight) it seemed like I lost some of my mojo, not getting erections as often, not as active as I used to be, just figured I was getting older and was normal, which it may well be. One year ago, during intercourse I had a fairly heavy impact on my penis when changing positions, which I assume was the original cause. Was not a problem at the time, continued having sex as normal, no pain, no loss of erection, perhaps I was not as hard as I used to be, but didn't think too much about it. Maybe 2 weeks after this, I noticed when my penis was flaccid it looked bruised on the top left side beneath the head and bent to the left about 45 degrees. I stopped all sexual activity for about 2 / 3 weeks thinking it would just go away, I did not not try get an erection and did not feel any urge to. When I tried to masturbate next my penis was shaped like an hour glass just under the head and did not become fully erect. I saw my GP and he said it was fine, take it easy, it was mostly mental. I went back to normal sexual activity, the hour glass became less and less prominent after a few sessions and I never experienced any pain, had no issues with maintaining an erection. I have been sexually active on and off since then, the flaccid bruising and 45 degree bend has not gone away, there is still no pain, I cannot feel any bumps, see any scars, sense anything else unusual, able to maintain a full straight erection.

However, 4 weeks ago, I decided to try and abstain from any sexual activity to see if I can get rid of this bruising / bend. I was getting straight night time erections, although not as hard as they used to be, the bending seemed to lessen, bruising not as visible. Thought everything was fine. However, 2 days ago I caved in to the urge to masturbate and OMG!!!! My penis was bent and twisted 90 degrees while semi-erect and the hour glass was prominent just below the head again. I massaged my penis after this and was able to get a full erection, not as hard as normal, but straight. Have checked again for any bumps, plaque, scar tissue but everything feels completely normal. I experienced no pain while having the erection, but now have a dull throb from time to time during the day. If anything I can perhaps feel that a ligament is harder than it should be on the left side of my penis. I have masturbated 2 more times after this, it still bends and has the hour glass while semi-erect, however after a massage I can get a full straight erection with no pain. The bend and the hour glass seem to be less prominent after each session.

I am confused as the semi-erect bending and hour glass seem to indicate symptoms for peyronies but I do not have any pain or any significant ED while fully erect. I cannot feel any lumps or abnormalities on the shaft, the only indication of a problem is the bruising (bruising is now from below the head to half way down the shaft), which is only a mild discoloration, not extremely black/purple. I am concerned that the Urologist will be clueless and as many have posted will prescribe me with some pill and tell me to wait until it gets better.

Any advice / thoughts? Does this sound like peyronies? Should I stop all sexual activity? Any immediate actions I should take?

Can anyone recommend a Doctor they have personally seen in anywhere in Australia?

Are there any considerations I am missing?

Apologies for any poor grammar, I am a bit of a pessimist at the best of times and my mind is all over the place at the moment.

Thanks in advance.

I cannot find anyone down under.  I grew up in Mt. Pleasant, Perth, WA...miss the place.

Anyway, "all in your head" sounds like a "find another Dr." type of statement to me.  Discoloration sounds more like vein issues to me, but if it interferes with erections like you say, it could easily come under this umbrella.  What you DON'T want to have happen is to leave yourself flaccid completely all the time only to discover scarring after you get an erection.  Be easy on yourself, as injury makes additional injury easy to do.

Specifically, Peyronie's (PDS) seems to be scarring/plaque on the Tunica, interfering with the expansion and size/shape of the penis during erection.  Of course erection itself is a combination process, and any interference with any part of the process can cause issues...ED in the form of incomplete/non-existent erections...bruising or discoloration during erection (sounds like the Corpus Cavernosa os leaking blood) and/or pain or disfigurement (normally associated with PDS).

You definitely need an Andrology specialist...male fertility and sexual health...more than just a Uro...if not a specialist in PDS in particular.
