I'm 25,

While I've never seen a doctor about this. I'm 99% sure I have Peyronie's disease. I never measured, as I'm not sure how to do so, I would estimate I have a bend in my erect penis of ~60%. Its quite noticeable. It used to give me pain on and off but it hasn't for a long time now. I go on an off feeling depressed about it, one thing I do feel good about is that with some of the advances in treatment I think I have a chance at living a normal life. If I could just bring that angle to half that I think I would be fine. I think the smartest approach is to get a plaque busting injection like Xiaflex coupled with traction therapy. I'm currently single (and have been for awhile). So 'distractions' will not be a problem.

One thing I'm not sure about, people talk in terms of mild, moderate, and acute Peyronies without defining what belongs in these categories. I don't really know where I am. I am also aware that a point of no return so to speak, is that its possible to kink the urethra, which means if you attempt to heal your penis it could unseal the rupture in the blood vessel the plaque is keeping shut. At that point the only real option is surgery.

I don't have much money. I make about $10/hour at an entry level job. I just graduated from college, but I didn't get any internships and I didn't do so well in my classes :(. So I'm stuck here for the foreseeable future. Thing is I think my condition is at a point where its progressively getting worse, because the bend has compromised the rigidity of my erect penis. Even gentle masturbation is proving dangerous. I think I have to tackle this as soon as possible or accept that this is my life. Further, I have no insurance, so I can afford a $250 traction device but I don't know what I can do about that medicine, which I think traction therapy is useless without. I could maybe scrounge up ~$1000 dollars for appointments and prescription but any more than that is out of the question.

Hello surelywasadream,

welcome to the forum we are glad that you found us, I have sent you our welcome letter that has our most important links in the forum to get you started.

I am going to tell you the most important thing here for you is to find a good urologist, all the gentlemen here will tell you the same, and it needs to be one that specializes in Peyronies, Now you have said that you are 99% sure is this because of the bend? If you haven't been able to see a doctor then I assume there has been no ultrasound to verify plaque. this is where the urologist will come into play for you and is very important that he is peyronies knowledgeable

As for the kink in your urethra, do you have this??? or is this just something that you are in fear of? Ive not heard of anyone having this issue wit their peyronies. and the thought of not removing the plaque to keep the urethra sealed doesn't sound right either but maybe I am not understanding you on this portion. Mild, moderate are self explanatory, that is going to depend on the amount of curvature, pain, indentation, ED, etc that you may or may not have with the peyronies. acute would simply mean that it came on all of the sudden.

There are many treatment options for peyronies traction is one and medication is a must Pentox in the most common use with a cocktail of others such as a low dose Cialis, the Pentox will be what breaks up the plaque if you have it but again a good urologist will be able to tell you that, and you will need the ultrasound to tell you. Xiflex is/can be used and we have a board where you can go to read about members who have and are currently doing the injections it can give you an idea of where you might want to go with this but you need to make sure that you have a doctor that specializes in giving these injections.

Surgery is a last option many of the men here will tell you, you don't want to have it unless its the only thing left to do. there are many other options. Right now you need to start at the very beginning, actually get the diagnosis and do so by a good urologist, there is a list of urologist in the welcome letter that I sent you, go through there and see if there is one located close to you. they are all petronies specialized.

Any questions please let us know we are here to help
