Hello all!
A little introduction, I'm a 42 year old guy from the Netherlands. About 4 months ago I noticed a curvature, not that many pain, but it seems the curavtion came "overnight". I started to check on google and found out about Peyronie's (never heard of it before). Obviously the outcome of my little research was shocking to me and after a month I went to my doctor. I explaned my worries so he asked some question, did a little check and told me not to worry, his advise "you leave it like that and if you get any other problems we will see what we should do" (in meantime he was on google and showed me a drawing of a penis with Peyronie's, like if I had not seen that before!) At the moment my penis doesn't hurt and it is functioning ok, but the curvature is still there.... I'm trying the VED as it seems like an option, but I'm getting worried my sex life is over, as I'm getting really insecure about it all... (I guess like the most of you will recognize)
What options do I have in the Netherlands?!
Greetings!

I am about to make an appointment with a dr meuleman in the vu hospital in amsterdam. He is supposed to be an expert on peyronies but i don't have any illusions. I most probably know more than him by just reading on this forum. Doctors and urologists here don't know what they could be doing or advising and in general because of this they come across as uncooperative. You have to push for any kind of medication (i found pentox, celebrex and cialis on this forum and told them unappolligetically what i wanted) and now i am pushing for and ultrasound and an explanation of my testosterone levels. It doesn't come easy. And why is nobody examining the possible use of xiaflex here? should we as patients become more assertive and get organized?

It sounds some kind of promissing, VU ziekenhuis isn't the worst one is it? It's just around the corner from where I live, so maybe it's an option... I would love to hear your follow up on this story! I guess cialis is just to get "the mood" going isn't it? (maybe I'm the fool now). That isn't the issue, it's just the curvature I want to get rid of (or at least it would be nice if it's getting a little less bended)
You can always PM me or mail me gayguy, maybe we can help eachother with the stories!
Greetings!

nocturn,
Your story sounds like many of us here. Don't give up this can be treated. You just need to educate yourself here. Do you have an estimate of how much curvature you might have.

There are several success stories posted on our forum including mine.

hi LWillisjr,

Thanks for your reply, I actually did not measure the curvature, but I checked some pics and I guess it's somewhere like 30 degrees upwards. Seems not like a "slightly"dent.... I'm now taking vit E for some time (2x 400mg a day) but I don't see anything happening, so I started VED for some weeks now but same story. Maybe somebody can give me the perfect guidlines for VED treatment (or any other treatment) And I like to hear about your success story, just to keep my spirit going.....  :)

Taking vitamin E might be good for your health but we find it does little if anything for Peyronies .
