Hi all,

I have just been diagnosed (officially after an appointment with an urologist) with Peyronie's disease.

I am a 39 y.o male, in good health and a girlfriend, in Sydney. I started having pain (dorsal side, closer to the "head") during erection a few months ago (3 to 4 months) but as we are usually in the bedroom and it is dark I have never noticed and deformity and never felt any lump. I have kept that in mind but decided to give a bit of time before seeing a doctor.

The other day we were in a bright room and when I got an erection I noticed a hourglass sort of shape. I went on the internet and concluded that I had Peyronie's symptoms.

I am back from the Urologist this morning and he could feel a lump (which I can not) and the only recommendation is the wait and see approach, which I definitely don't want to take.

It has been tough mentally, even affecting erection.

I have read some of the posts here and hope I can find support and help.

How can I find a doctor, in Sydney, who would have a different approach?
What should I start doing to help: diet, exercises, stretching...?
What is a must to stop doing to prevent worsening the case, can I have sex, masturbate, eat sugar...?

Thank you for your help and time.

Hey man, sorry to hear about your diagnoses. I don't even see how something like this is allowed to exist! It should have taken a detour in its evolution! I'm also new here but have done a tone of reading. I believe the things recommended that you should be able to get on your own are vitamin e, l-arginine, l-carnitine, a penis pump or "ved" maybe even viagra or Calais, those are just some of the things ive seen people here recomend that you can get your self. As far as a docter, I'm in the same stupid boat.

I haven't been diagnosed but I feel something fishy going on with me and it's already taking a toll on my mental health. I can only imagine how it must be for you. I'm a 28 year old man who is 6 foot 4 245 pounds who crys at least every few day, so talk about tough mentally.

Azimute;

Sorry to hear of your diagnosis. Has your Uro had an ultrasound done?  Do NOT listen to this guy. Waiting is the very worst thing you can do. There are very rare cases of spontaneous resolution of the disease, but they are just that - very rare. In most cases, the disease will simply progress.

Find another Uro. There is a list on the site. We also have several Aussie members, you can maybe find them in the members list and P.M. anybody local.

Start with ALC, Citrulline Malate, CoQ10,  and low dose (5mg) Generic Cialis, or the equivalent in Sildenafil. If you can get it, ask your new Uro for a prescription for Pentox.

I would recommend VED therapy. It will help keep a healthy blood supply to your dick and can help, limit any curvature. If curvature develops, start with traction.

Exercise will help you both mentally and physically. Personally, I just follow a sensible diet. Others have gone down the ultra healthy route.

Hi Jonbinspain and ocding,

Thank you for your support and tips.

I am definitely not to get to see the same uro again. He did not take an ultrasound nor any other sort of image. - The diagnose was based on touching it flaccid, and I can not feel anything even when it is hard.

I found another doctor on this website and am trying to get an appointment ASAP.

I have started eating raw ginger a couple of times a day, I know it is little but I must get started somewhere- In Australia it is impossible to get medication without a prescription. So for the medication I think I will wait until I see a doctor, also there is also the vacuum / stretching devices, and as common sense the benefits seems logical to me.

Have you guys use it? After reading some posts I noticed that it can be dangerous if not used properly. Which one should I buy?

The only thing on the list of supllements, etc, that I gave that needs a prescription, is apentox. The rest are freely available OTC, or online. Buy ALC and Citrulline in powder form. It's far cheaper and both are easily dissolvable in water.

Re VED. I would send a PM to Old Man telling him your problem, he's our VED expert and I'm sure he'll recommend a single cylinder manual version, but ask him anyway. I use an Augusta Vitality single and it works fine for me. The main danger is from overpumping, but if  you get any pain or discomfort, stop and ask on the forum.
