Hello All,

Brand new here.  50 yo male in excellent health.   I am crushed at the moment about what is ahead, this is all so very
uncertain, I think that is the worst part of this, not knowing what is next.   Regardless, I would like to thank all of you for
your excellent posts and educating me before I made my first post just now.  Thank you all!

I have not been officially diagnosed yet, but I strongly suspect I have what I think is the beginning stages of Peyronie's.
My symptom (I only have one) started to appear a few months ago.    I only have a dent on the right side of my penis, which is very noticeable
compared to how it used to look.  The dent (deflated area) is just past the circumcision scar down the shaft and is about the size of a dime or a nickel
vertically, and about a 1/4 inch indentation horizontally.  This all started to occur over the last 3-4 months, I started noticing it after masterbation it
looked like an indentation where my hand had been, but then stayed, I just thought it would go away but it did not.  It finally dawned on me the other
day that something else might be going on, which is how I stumbled on Peyronie's and you gents.   I have zero pain, I think I am in what you are all
referring to as the "active" stages of the disease.  I feel deformed now, like a chunk has been taken off the side of my penis.   I am scared to death
of what is going to happen next.  I have spent the last two days stuck at the computer trying to educate myself on what is happening.   I think
at this point I know enough to be dangerous at this point, so please forgive my ignorance.   I will end with I live in California and I think I have access
to some really good experts but I am willing to both travel or do what ever it takes to try to become somewhat normal again if that is even possible.

I have so many questions I don't even know where to begin, three main questions stand out however.  Did any of you start out with a "dent" then
proceed to something else?  From what I have read, some of you just woke up with a severely crooked penis one morning, so far that has not happened
to me, I just don't understand the beginning stages of this condition yet.   I would also like to know if you go on to drugs like Pentox etc. is that going
to be a lifelong drug or is it supposedly given until it either fails or does something beneficial then you stop?   Lastly,  I am really very confused, about
Xilaflex, on the one hand what I am reading says that Xilaflex is only indicated for patients with more than 30 degrees but less than 50 degrees curvature.
Since I have a large dent and I think I am in the "active" phase, does that preclude me from Xilaflex as a potential remedy or am I a good candidate for
it since I am still in the "active" phase?  I can feel no scar tissue and again I have zero pain as of yet.   I have read the pros and cons about Xilaflex, but
I am very intrigued and hopeful about it.    I also don't want an insurance company making the determination of whether or not I am a candidate for Xilaflex,
if I am a candidate but just not for insurance purposes, I am willing to go out of pocket to fund this myself if that is what it takes, in other words, I don't want
some arbitrary set of guidelines determining my future if I am a candidate for it.

Thank you all again very much for your time and patience.  I am sure this is just first of many more questions I will have.

Eugera;

Your first step is to get a diagnosis. It goes without saying that you can't begin treatment until you're aware of what you're dealing with. You can find a list of competent Urologists on the site. You may or may not have Peyronie's. If, indeed, it is Peyronies then the sooner you act, the better. But get to a Uro who specialises in Peyronies ASAP.

I will second Jonbinspain.
You should be diagnosed as soon as possible and start treatment.
Before your appointment, take a look at Pentox, low dose Cialis, Ubiquinol and VED.
We have also a doctors list, you may find one close to you:
