Hey everybody. So I think I have Peyronie's via injury. It has been 2 weeks since that day.

I just don't know where to begin. I got myself L-arginine, acetyl l-carnitine, vitamin E, magnesium, ginkgo, fish oil and am going to take those daily. And CoQ10 (not sure if ubiquinone or ubiquinol as it is unlabeled).

Anyways I know that's not enough. I need to visit a urologist but I don't know how. I live in Pittsburgh and my PCP is 6 hours away. I cannot go home to get a referral for another few months but I feel as if I should see a urologist ASAP, one in pittsburgh where I live. I am a student and have obligations related to my future career.

But where do I start? Additionally: I am with Aetna and it is HMO family plan. Can I get a referral via phone? Will I be able to find a urologist myself or am I only allowed to see a urologist that my PCP knows?

Please help me, I do not know where else to turn in this frightening moment.

I moved your post to this board as your topic is more an introductory than search for a doctor.
Regarding CoQ10, it is Ubiquinone. Ubiquinol will be stated on the bottle if it is Ubiquinol and not CoQ10 and is much more expensive.
Our body converts Ubiquinone to Ubiquinol. As you are younger than 40, this process is done successfully in most cases.
You are mentioning an injury. Can you say what are the symptoms? Do you have pain, bend, ED?
Not every accident will result in Peyronies, I will say that in most cases will not in to my opinion.

Hello everybody. I messed up, I jelqed for a month. Now I think I have peyronies. 2 weeks ago was day 1.

My flaccid immediately bent to the left under the glans after ejaculating. It has been happening more frequently since, or maybe I'm just noticing more. My erect penis has a curve along the left side of the shaft. It is not that bad: if this is the worst it got, I'd be okay with it. I think the curve has increased? I'm not sure, my mind is my worst enemy right now.

My left testicle seems further bak than my right, and it looks like I have old man balls sometimes.

I ejaculated today and noticed that the right side of my penis had what looked like 2 segmented regions. My penis curved noticeably left when my erection was subsiding then went back to normal when completely flaccid.

I have hard flaccid at times. Like 2.75 in from 3.25 pre injury. This is worse after ejaculating and if I am thinking too hard.

My penis is .25 shorter immediately after the injury and looks thinner.

How do I know if I have a plaque? Is 2 weeks too early to tell? I am not sure what the plaque would feel like, but My whole left side of my penis, the cc, is rigid. I can bend my penis easier to the left side but not the right side (indicating problem with left side). My flaccid penis feels almost like rubber.

I wouldn't say I'm in pain. But the left side feels sore. Maybe I can describe it as an inflammation feeling. When I get erections, they don't really hurt. I can get erections- should I encourage this? Without ejaculation of course.

Occasionally I'll feel pelvic floor muscle spasms, and it seems like there is a slight heat rush running down my left leg.

My glans feels more deflated, I think.

Perhaps this is the beginning of my progression, I hope it is not. I hope it does not get too bad.

That is my story. Can anybody offer me some perspective and information regarding common signs and symptoms?

Thank you for listening. I am going to school for physical therapy and one day hope to help others with conditions such as this.

I apologize for my misplacement of the topic. I have just created another post in this section describing the nature of the injury and physical signs.

Thank you for responding. In fact, your prompt response has just put a smile on my face!

You are not the first that ending on the forum after jelqing.
I wish they were writing the possible side effects from jelqing on the forum they encouraging those "exercises"
To see if you have visible plaque or not you have to see a Peyronies specialist, he can tell you by palpating and ultrasound.
From what you are detailing it sounds Peyronies symptoms, but can't make a diagnosis by the Internet.
Regarding treatment to stop progression an even reverse the symptoms, my opinion is that you have to start with:
VED (the manual, carefully not to over-pump), Pentox, low dose Cialis and CoQ10.
Regarding ejaculation, my opinion is that is OK, "use it or lose it" I will say. Just be careful during sex/masturbation not to get a new injury. Other forum members may think different and will tell you not to "use it".

Bottom line, fight this disease as soon as you can. I waited three years with disastrous results.

What is the first step to seeing a Peyronie's specialist? I live 6 hours away from my PCP :(

Jonbinspain

You need an ultrasound, as a first step. This will establish if there is any plaque developing, or not. If that is the case, now is the time to fight it.

You should find a list of Peyronie's specialists on this site. There should be one in your area. Pittsburgh , from memory, is a pretty big town. I'm sure there should one available closer than 6 hours away. If not, your dick is more important than a 6 hour drive!....

Whether you need a referral or not from your PCP is all dependent on your insurance, so we won't be able to help with that. In my case I did not need a referral, so I called the specialist office directly and made the appointment.
