Hello I'm the newest member to your very helpful community. I'm going by the aliases MrRed because my face was so flustered once I found out more about peyronies disease. I'm 19 yeard old and I've had peyoronies disease for the last 6 years and I have yet to get any treatment for it. It never really bothered me because it never caused me any pain. I only became concerned about it once I learned that it could cause penis shrinkage. Now I'm finding out just how hard it is to "cure." I don't even know how I'm going to bring this up to my doctor. I'm here for the same reason all of you are. I'm here to find some help, because I can no longer live with this alone. Hopefully together we can find a way out of this mess.

You've had Peyronies Disease since you were 13 yrs. old???  That's extremely young for Peyronie's - in fact I've never heard of such.

Why exactly do you think you have Peyronie's disease?  Please be specific as to your symptoms.  A curved penis does not necessarily mean you have Peyronie's disease.  Curves can be entirely natural.  You've already said you have no pain, and you don't know if you've had any length or girth loss.

So the question is, can you feel an area of plaque when you're flaccid that corresponds with a curve or other deformity?  If the answer is no, then you almost definitely DO NOT have Peyronie's disease and you are more than likely making much ado about nothing.

Please answer these questions before hurtling down various treatment paths.

53 yrs. old, multiple auto-immune conditions. First episode of Peyronies Disease in 2002; recurred again in 2013. Over the years I tried Topical Verapamil, Iontophoresis, all the supps, Cialis + Pentoxifylline. For past few years only Cialis. Still functional.

Yes, you read that correctly. I have had it since I was 13 years old. In fact I can't even remember a time when my penis wasn't bent. I'm pretty sure I have it because I have a black scar on the right side of my penis. That area of my penis is very hard, and heavy. It definitely feels like there is some plague buildup in that area. It causes my penis to tilt severely to the left and gets worse when I become erect.

nemo

Peyronie's Disease doesn't produce a "scar" that's visible on the outer skin of the penis, so if you're seeing a "black scar" on the side of your penis, in the exterior skin, I'm not sure what that would be.

However, you say your penis tilts "severely" ... what sort of angle are we talking about when fully erect: 90-degrees?; 45 degrees? ... give us an idea of what you consider "severe."

When I get an erection my penis bends far enough to touch my thigh when I'm standing up. It's almost shaped like a boomerang. I don't think this much curvature is normal. I thought everyone had some sort of scar due to Peyronie's disease? My scar is located directly below the gland. Does everyone experience some sort of pain and discomfort with Peyronie's Disease? My erections are never painful. I know you're probably skeptical that I have it because I got it at such a young age. Believe me I was pretty skeptical at first too. I just don't understand what else could cause my penis to produce such a big curve. I can also feel the plaque on the side with the scar on it. If this isn't Peyronie's Disease then it's something very similar to it.

"Scar," when we talk about Peyronie's Disease, refers to internal scarring inside the penis - imagine a small piece of tape on the inside of a balloon, causing it to inflate in an irregular shape.  It's not an external, visible scar like you'd get from a cut or other trauma. For most men, if you just looked at their flaccid penis, you'd have no earthly idea they had Peyronie's - it's only when the penis becomes erect that a bend or indentation is recognizable.

However, if you have a significant bend you're concerned about, you don't need to be doing anything like traction or VED until you've gone to a urologist and had a hands-on diagnosis of Peyronies.  You don't want to put the cart before the horse.  Some of what you're describing sounds like Peyronies (a curve), but other things you mention like a "black scar" don't sound at all like Peyronies.  You really need to be looked at by a doctor who can see and feel what you're seeing and feeling - we simply can't do that over the internet.

Make sense?

Best,

I was unaware that you guys don't have a visible scar like I do. I might have some weird forum of ED that causes my penis to bend because I don't get enough blood flow in one area due to the scar. I still don't understand why I have the plaque though. Anyway I guess I better go consult my doctor. Thanks for the help.

Red, go to a doctor immediately whatever it takes.
What you describe is extremely unusual and concerning.
From your vague description it could be anything from a minor discoloration due to masturbation (ruptured capillaries), to something very serious. Let us know the details and go get it examined.

If you do have scarring you may want to find a peyronies specialist.
An ultrasound will help diagnose you. If you have a bend and can feel something underneath the skin you may have some peyronies. Take one step at a time and let's get through this.

Red, how long has this "black scar" been visible on your penis?

Circumcision can also cause bending if the cut was too tight. Are you circumcised?

MrRed

I've had the black scar for as long as I can remember. I don't ever remember a time when it wasn't there. I have also been circumcised.

nemo

Are you white, black, asian - what's your ethnicity?  Is it possible you're just looking at a circumcision scar?  Often there's a very visible difference in skin color between the major portion of the shaft and the skin beyond the circumcision scar (which will be lighter).  Is this what you're seeing, perhaps?  When you say "black" - we're thinking "black" like coal.  That's why the internet is no place to diagnose someone ...

I'm white so my skin is very light. The scar doesn't go all the way around my penis. It's only where the plaque is located. The scar is about 3/4 of a centimeter long, and a little over half a centimeter wide. The scar is black like coal.

go and see a doctor.

You say you've had the scar for as long as you can remember.  Has it changed shape or color?
