My first ever post on a forum.
Age - 55
What did your medical doctor conclude - he agreed that I have Peyronies
How long have you had symptoms - about a year
What are your symptoms - plaque exactly on top causing upward curvature shortening and hour glass
What treatments have you tried and what were the results - Vitamin E Co Q 10 - no effect.
Do you have insurance or means to get medical treatment - in UK so free but second opinion costs
where are you in dealing with the psychological aspects of Peyronies Disease? - It is distracting.
Are you in a relationship? _ I am fortunate to have a supportive wife.

My story - Otherwise completely healthy, sensible BMI, reasonably fit.
I got a very bad infection - 80% of my surface was covered by a rash. At this point I was found to have mild hypertension, I thought it was due to the infection, but GP disagreed and recommended Amlodipene.
After antibiotics and the clear up of the infection - took nearly 8 weeks. I started to get an irregular heart beat. Was recommended Bisoprolol. Everything was reasonably normal, I just assumed they were routine drugs and I was getting older, most people I knew were taking something. I vowed to give them up after a few months and see what happened to the BP. Then I noticed the start of the plaque, it took less than 3 weeks to develop. I started to surf the web looking for rare side effects of the drugs, and happened on a reference to Bisoprolol and Peyronies. I gave up the drugs immediately. The next day, I bounced down the road to a shop, I did not realise the slowing effect the Amlodipine was having, it was like my wick was turned down, now, it was turned up and I was much more lively.
My GP agreed that it was peyronies, I was referred to a Uro who told me what I already knew and advised Vitamin E and to give it a year. Seemed a waste of space to me.
There was no other influence, I enjoyed normal, pleasant sex with my wife, nothing rough, acrobatic, nothing to cause physical damage.
I sincerely believe the Bisoprolol was a cause, maybe in combination with the Amlodipine. I cannot understand why the prescribing doctor did not mention the very rare side effects, I realise the link may not be proven. Had he said something about Peyronies, I would have recognised the plaque and stopped the medication.

Current stats
BPSFL 136. Circ 120 at the normal places, 110 at the hour glass. I don't have the BPEL before the problem, it is now 145

If anyone can PM me a sympathetic Urologist in the UK, I would be very grateful
