Hi!

I'm not 100% sure why I'm posting this. I guess, in a way, I'm trying to thank you guys for having this forum. Reading other guys with this problem made me think about alternatives treatments and also It helped me to understand I'm not the only one going through this.

I'm 33 years old and I've been dealing with pain for more than a year. It was just a small pain everytime I got an erection. I though it was going to disappear but it didn't. In last October I noticed a small bend so I freaked out and I ran to see an urologist. He told me I should get an Eco Doppler. So I did that and everything was fine. My urologist said "ok, so you don't have Peyronie" and he was clueless about what was going on with me. He had no idea. He tried to find plaques in my dick but he couldn't.

So; a few days later, I went to see another Doctor. This time this new Dr told me that an Eco Doppler was not usefull to know if you have peyronie. He told me to get an X-Ray. He also told me to take Vitamin E and to do laser therapy.

I didn't trust that Dr because I read here that Vitamin E was useless. So I went to ANOTHER urologist. The new one, the third one, he told me that the Eco Doppler was useless and that I needed to take an X ray. He found a plaque (by touching) and after seeing my X ray he told me I should use Topic Verapamil Gel (15%) and do Ultrasound. He said "At least 80 sessions of Ultrasound". He also told me Vitamin E was useless and that the laser therapy was not going to help me. By the way, the X ray exam says I have two plaques (no calcification), they are both small (like 4mm).

So, I did what he told me. I've been using Verapamil Gel since the end of November  and taking Ultrasound since December. I had 50 sessions of Ultrasound (the last one was last week). The results so far have been... weird. The pain comes an goes all the time. Is this common? The bend is a little bit better, just a liiiitle bit.

After reading you guys talking about Pentox, I asked my urologist about it, and I also asked him about about Propolis. He told me he didn't see good result either with Pentox or propolis, but he's an open minded Dr and he told me "if you want to take that stuff, go for it, It wont hurt you". I know Pentox has some side effects (anxiety, nausea) but I'm giving it a shot.

So, nowadays I'm doing this:

-   using topical Verapamil (once per day. If I use it twice a day, my skin gets hurt)
-   1200 mg Pentox per day (600mg twice a day)
-   1000 mg propolis per day
-   400 mg Vitamin E

Yes, I'm still taking vitamin E...I know everybody says it doesn't work at all, but well, I'm kind of desperate.

I'm not sure what to do about the Ultrasound therapy, the 50 sessions don't seem to have helped at all so far. And if i want to continue, I'll have to pay ($10 per session) cause my medical insurance just covers 25 session each year (I did 25 in 2012 –i went every freaking day- and 25 in 2013, going 3 times a week)

Again, I want to thank you all for having this forum. You all know this crap we are going through is pretty hard. Even though I'm not having any ED issue and I can have sex anytime, it's really hard to deal with chronic pain and the bend down there.

Sorry for my English, as you could guess English is not my first language. I'm from South America.

Any thoughts, ideas or comments are welcome!

Again, thanks!

Hawk

betseyagopian, welcome to the forum.  First, your English is excellent.  I actually would have never guessed you were not a native speaker.

There is no reason not to take that dosage of vitamin E.  We have nothing against it except that doctors that know nothing tell men to take vitamin E and check back in 6 months.  If you are going to take E you might consider taking a mixed Tocopherols (Alpha, beta, gamma, etc).

Hopefully you are not paying much for the topical Verapamil since its track record is not at all good, but again, it will not hurt.  The Pentox is your best shot but you need to read this post if you have not read it already.  It ill give you more sound information and educate your so we have a good starting point to continue the discussion. Hi Hawk, thanks for you kind words. I'm taking Ephynal400 Vitamin E (Bayer labs). I'm not sure if I can get Tocopherols in my country.

Yeah, I know it won't hurt (besides the skin irritation). I'm paying $40 USD for 50grs. I'm getting it from a drugstore recommeded by my Dr. They do the Verapamil themselves. I know that Peyronies Disease Labs is against this, but It would cost me a fortune to get the Verapamil from Peyronies Disease Labs, I'm not even sure if would be able to get it because of the customs rules of my country.

Regarding the Propolis, I'm getting it in the US, it's very cheap. I know you guys don't trust in the Propolis, but again... nothing to loose! (unless you are allergic to Bee products). I asked my urologist if Pentox would be affected by the Propolis since Im taking both things, but he said I wouldn't affect it.

Thanks again!
