I have been visiting here for a while.I had my Doc refer me to a urologist, she gave me two names.I chose the younger one hoping he would be more up on the condition. His advertisment said treatment for peronies.
I made an appointment & told the guy what was going on(slight bend upwards,no pain,& ED)He asked a couple questions did aprotate exam & felt around my genitals. He said there was no cure & surgery is not done unless the bend is 40 degrees. Then gave me a Viagra sample (two 100 )and said to come back in six months.I can't see going back to this guy for nothing.I am in Dayton Ohio and don't know where to get a better or more concerned urologist

Sounds like the doctor you saw is not qualified to treat Peyronie's.

Consider these doctors:

This one is from our forum:

Dr. Herbert W. Riemenschneider
Riverside Urology, Inc
4845 Knightsbridge Blvd
Suite 200
Columbus, OH 43214
Phone: 614-442-3000

I found this doctor as well:

Dr. Allen D. Seftel
Case Western Res. University
Urology Dept.
11100 Euclid Ave.
Cleveland, OH 44106
Phone: 216-844-7632

You'll find a vast resource of information here in these forums. It may seem overwhelming at first but as you sift through it, you'll find a great deal of info that applies to your situation and the possible solutions which may very well impact your Peyronie's disorder in a positive manner.

The first thing I would recommend is to go see a Peyronie's oriented urologist, like the two I listed above.

Second, Pentox is the first-line medication that the vast majority of us here use to fight back against Peyronie's. You need to consider getting on it right away. Adding 5 mg/day of Cialis, Acetyl-L-carnitine (ALCAR), and L-Arginine or Citrulline Malate (my preference) is also a good idea to ensure proper blood flow.

Third, get a full panel blood test done that checks not just your lipids but your testosterone level as well. My emphasis since I started my counter-attack against Peyronie's has been to raise and maintain a high testosterone level. The results of the blood panel test will tell you a great deal about your health, including testosterone and HGH levels. Let me know if you want a list of the things that should be checked.

This forum is a great place for info and the other guys here are awesome and will help you as well. Feel free to ask as many questions as you need.

Don't freak out. I started with a 90% bend but now it's closer to 45%.

There's hope.

God bless.

Oldroller,

If you have watched this forum much you might well consider making the trip to see Dr. Levine in IL.  I know its a hike from where you are but it beats waitinga couple months and second guessing your doctor and your appointment.  Here is the link to a list of doctors.  No one on the list is better than Levine in Chicago.  https://www.peyroniesforum.net/index.php/topic,3053.msg42486.html#msg42486

Well your doctor was sort of right. You didn't really state any symptoms. And I agree that your curve would need to be severe enough (greater than 30-40 degrees?) and all other options exhausted before surgery should even be considered.

But what he didn't do is to recommend other things you could be doing to keep your curve from getting any worse. And this forum is full of information in this regard. If you have are are developing any curvature while erect, then for sure read up on traction or VED therapy. If you have ED, that alone is not indicative of Peyronies disease.

Did your doctor actually diagnose anything?

I completely agree more with Hawk & lwillisjr. I'm from Pittsburgh and drove to Chicago to see Dr Levine last summer. He's one of a few urologists who has done research on and specializes in peyronies treatment. I had seen a urologist at the Cleveland clinic who basically told me the same thing your urologist told you. But, there's a chance you could help improve your condition before it gets worse and is still in its early stages. He told me to come back in 6 months & didn't suggest any course of action in the mean time. Some urologists don't believe in any treatment for peyronies aside from surgery, but it can't hurt to try some meds/supplements & traction before surgery becomes an option. Dr Levine can at least perform an ultrasound to determine if plaque is what's causing your problems.

Has anyone here been to Dr Riemenschneider if so what was his treatment plan?

Hawk

If you go up to forum menu, right between HELP and ADMIN you will see SEARCH.  If you click on that and do a search on Riemenschneider you will see he is mentioned about 6 times on the forum but not by anyone that has actually been to him and reported back.

I am confused about how to search I have entered the Dr name & nothing comes up.Not too computer savy.
                  sorry
thanks

Hawk

no need to ever apologize for not knowing how to use the forum as long as you at least try.  If I click on the search button as I detailed in my last post then enter the word:

Riemenschneider

Then click the Search button near the bottom right hand side on the screen I get several hits.

Please try one more time.
