hi.am a 37 year old happily married man... i have two sons...on the net i have come across so many theories that peyronies is caused due to this ,due to that,,,and many reasons,,,but i would like to bring to the notice of the people that  peyronies is  also a genetic disease...i can tell coz, i myself have the problem..my penis is bent forward ,looks just like an Ln key,,or an upside down L...and i have seen that  both of my sons one 13yrs old,and the other just 3yrs old have the same condition of the penis as mine...and as per my research till this  date surgery might be the only cure for my type of curvature..i would like to add that though  i have this problem i dont have any pain or difficulty while having sex......only that my penis is thin and just 5 inch in lenth...i hope one day  i would have a normal penis...

Peyronies Disease certainly has a heredity factor involved. But it sounds more like you have CPC. Have you always had your curve? If so, I don't think you are looking at Peyronie's.

Rajiv, Welcome to the PDS forum.

There is a huge difference between Peyronies Disease and a congenital curve.  Both may have a genetic component.  There is NO WAY your 3 yr old son has Peyronies Disease.  The same is surly true of your 13 year old son.  That leads me to think it is likely you have congenital curve and not Peyronies Disease.

but as i have seen a few videos of the surgery's  for corrections of peyrone's and in that video the person who was being operated on had the same condition like mine......so i say it is pyronie's as far as my knowledge.....

Rajiv,

You cannot tell by watching a surgery what caused the penis to curve or what caused YOUR penis to curve.  Three year old boys DO NOT get Peyronies Disease. There has never been such a case in history.  I have never heard of a thirteen year old boy getting Peyronies Disease.

If you have 2 boys that had a curve since they were infants then that has to be congenital curve.  If you also have a curve then it is likely that you have a congenital curve that they inherited from you.  A good urologist could do tests and tell you the answer.

Peyronies is a condition that develops and progresses (increases, gets worse).  It often happens suddenly over a few days, a few weeks, or a few months.  It often involves pain, and often involves loss of erection.  Most men under 30 years old with Peyronies Disease had it triggered (started) by a significant injury.

When did you first get a curve?  Did you have any big injury before you got the curve?

From all that you tell me, even though we are not doctors, most men on this forum could tell you for certain that you do not have Peyronies Disease.  It is also VERY unlikely that you have any type of scar tissue.  It is likely that you simply have one chamber shorter than the other just like most people have one ear, or one testicle smaller than the other.  It is not a progressing condition that you can "cure".  There are one or two things that may help correct the problem.  first you have to decide how much of a problem your curve is to you.  If you have 2 sons then we know that you can have sex.

If sex cannot be satisfying to you or your wife then you may want to try to correct your natural curve.  If you can have sex without much problem but it troubles you psychologically, then you have to decide if the problem is to fix how you think about your penis or to fix your curve.

The way most every doctor in the world would tell you to fix your curve is surgery.  The kind of surgery is called a Nesbit procedure or Nesbit Plication, or Nesbit Tuck.  It is all the same.  Since it would be very, very  difficult to make the short side longer they make the long side shorter by putting a few stitches under the skin on the long side to pull it short.  If the doctor is very good you will end up near straight.  Since they shorten the long side you will lose a little bit of length to your penis.

If surgery by a good doctor is not available to you, or if your curve is not really bad enough for surgery, you can try traction.  You wear a stretching device on your penis and gradually try to stretch the short side a little longer to reduce the curve.  Such a device usually costs about $ 250.00 US dollars.  If I could have satisfactory sex, I would try traction and hope to correct my curve part way to reduce my curve and I would not worry about it.  If is far better than many men that cannot have sex because of a great curve or because they cannot get an erection.

Do NOT let either a bad doctor or even a good doctor do surgery on your penis.  You want only a very good or a great doctor that does hundreds of successful surgeries or you may not be happy with the result.

You never said how much of a curve you have.  Does it curve to one side, or up, or down?
