Hi, I'm 31 years old and my husband, 40 years old, just was diagnosed with Peyronies Disease. He found a plaque basically over night and within four days, had two more develop. He hasn't developed a curvature as of now but does have an indentation. I haven't found much online about this form of Peyronies Disease. Since he's in the acute phase, the urologist recommended cialis and the restoreX. Then depending on how it progresses, we'll assess other treatments.

This whole thing feels like a nightmare we can't wake up from and I'm just grateful that he's talking to me about it. It feels like there's no answers and everything is experimental. Does anyone have any guidance or what they wish they did during this early phase?

Hello,

I'm also fairly new with a Peyronies diagnosis, so can relate to the distress it causes.

How severe is the indentation? Do you have any idea of what might have caused it? A very common culprit is rough sex or a slip-out situation, where the guy misses the hole so to speak and hits the outer body of the receiving partner. Thats what happened in my case and as a result, developed several plaques in the form of bands, followed by eventual upward curvature.

If your husband doesn't have nay curvature at this point in time, thats at least encouraging. Unfortunately, outside of surgery, Cialis and Restorex are the only proven things that really make any difference. Others may vouch for VEDs, which may help but I havnt personally heard as many success stories.

In the meantime, all I can suggest is take sex real, damn, easy. Avoid rough sex or risky positions. Girl On Top is probably the worst. Lots of guys have had their penis literally bent in half / fractured because the girl has slipped out and then put her whole weight onto it.

if at any point he feels his erection isnt 100%, Its also much better to just stop and try again later (preferably with the help of cialis). Attempting sex with a weak erection is asking for trouble.

As for what I wish I did. It would have been to have just started traction therapy sooner. I'm not that late to the game really but obviously, all the ultrasound scans and doctor's appointments can take up a lot of time.

You or your husband are more than welcome to message me if you have any questions at all. It's such a weird, niche condition that it can feel like you are the only one dealing with it. But you certainly aren't alone.

Thanks so much for your kind reply. Unfortunately, we can't pinpoint anything specific that might have caused it. We haven't had a sex-related injury—like a missed thrust—in over a year, so maybe that past incident was the trigger. The only recent changes are that my husband started taking glucosamine for his joints, and about two weeks before the Peyronie's symptoms appeared, he began taking creatine daily. He's stopped taking both of those and has started C0Q10, l-argine, vitamin e, and bilberry.

The indentation isn't too deep, a slight thumb print like indentation and a slight upward curve started to develop yesterday.

He initially had one plaque that hadn't changed in size for about a week. After a urologist performed a Doppler exam (with injection), he noticed a second plaque later that day, and then a third the next morning. We're really concerned that the trauma from the injection might have triggered inflammation and accelerated the development of new plaques. We've read that any trauma during the acute phase could worsen the condition, so we've been avoiding sex just in case.

We've purchased the RestoreX device, but we're reading mixed advice—some sources say to start traction therapy right away, while others suggest waiting until the acute phase ends. Did you begin using it immediately, or did you wait?

Thanks for being so kind and open to talking! I'm sure my husband would love to chat.

Can you possibly get your husband to make an introduction and post? The survival guide is a great starting point-->Survival Guide.

Usually when a man is beginning with peyronies, traction and VED are the 2 most common beginning therapies. Cialis is also good because it helps reducing inflammation which is what peyronies flourishes on. He has been seen by a urologist but my question is he a peyronies specialist? A lot of urologists are not experienced in peyronies.
