Thanks for running and maintaining this site ! The survival guide was an informative read.

I came across this site after wondering if autophagy might improve or counteract peyronie's. I've only been fasting and carnivore since May this year ,have lost a lot of weight but haven't seen any changes in my erection (that could be a good thing). I couldn't offer a measure of degrees on my curvature as it is from two places giving a double bend that is not extreme. I did start with painful erections and have to be careful during intercourse probably more from fear. I can't say when this started. Some time ago I felt a pop during intercourse and lost my erection but there was no sign of damage or resultant pain so I did nothing about it. This year I noticed I was less full and more recently around March the double deformation and a reduction in length. I'm not sure if I'm in the acute phase or chronic as I can't really be sure how long ago this started. Other than I had noticed a change for a while but it suddenly scared me into action in March with a marked change.

I'm currently on a very long waiting list for an initial appointment with a urologist (I'm in the UK) and the literature I received in the meantime was demoralising to say the least. Especially when I discovered that Collagenese is not available to me and only rarely available privately at a cost of £600 per injection  and requiring up to 8.

That's a bit of my story or the start of it I suppose ....

I would like to ask a couple of questions if anyone would be so kind.... I have two lumps/ solid areas at the site of the bends when flaccid

1) Does this mean that the plaque is already calcified?
2) Are pumps and/or traction worth it in either phase?

Sorry a bonus question

3) Is it ok to correct a bend gently whilst erect?

Thanks for reading this and for the site

Best regards

Welcome, McStinky,

To briefly answer your questions:

1) A lump or nodule does not mean calcification, the lump or nodule is fibrosis - an area where the body is "over-healing" a minor trauma. That's the nature of Peyronies Disease - the body overreacting to a minor trauma. Calcification is literally the deposition of calcium to create a bone-like hardness. You would feel this as being extremely hard, or it could be detected on ultrasound. But if what your feeling is still soft-ish, then no, it's not calcified.

2) Many here feel traction and VED are both effective in the acute phase and in the chronic phase.

3) NEVER - I mean NEVER - try to bend your penis when you are erect. You will further inflame the minor trauma that started this in the first place. Traction or even hand traction are only meant to be done while flaccid. You will injure yourself trying to bend an erection, even minimally.

Hope this helps,
Nemo
53 yrs. old, multiple auto-immune conditions. First episode of Peyronies Disease in 2002; recurred again in 2013. Over the years I tried Topical Verapamil, Iontophoresis, all the supps, Cialis + Pentoxifylline. For past few years only Cialis. Still functional.

Hi Nemo

Thanks very much for your reply. Especially no.3 ! I hadn't tried anything more than gentle exploratory manipulation but will now set that idea aside !

Not having seen a specialist yet I've been left to my own devices so to speak

I'll have a look through the treatment forums for info on UK suppliers of VED and traction to see if there are recommendation's.

Thanks for taking the time
