Hi,

I live in maryland. Scheduled an appointment with a urologist which unfortunately is on December 22nd. I should have found a doctor earlier. It started for me when I woke up at night with a painful erection at night back in February I believe. Then I started noticing my penis felt and looked weird. Had hourglassing and noticed my penis was curved, loss length and seem to be veering to the left direction. Have only had a few erections this year.  I have had an issue with masturbation. So I have been trying to abstrain from it as well. I have provided some pictures below. Do you think I should find a regular doctor before going to to a urologist. It's just that I can't seem to find a urologist available sooner. Do you guys think I could see any improvements in shape/hourglasses or length possibly. I had some issues attaching so I have provided a link to the pictures.

Welcome to the forum.  While your waiting a GP could get you started on pentox and low dose nightly generic cialis-both to help remodel the plaque to healthy tissue.  You could also get started a VED or traction-just follow the protocols here carefully.  Be sure the urologist specializes in andrology (including Peyronies Disease).

I'd get started by reading the survival guide and bringing back your questions

Yeah, I'd get a diagnosis from an internist and then ask for a referral to a urologist, preferably one who has an interest in Peyroines and can do an ultrasound. The symptoms sound like Peyroines but no one can diagnose you here or from pictures. Then go with the urologists recommendations. Starting Pentox and Cialis /viagra is certainly not going to hurt, but be sure to ask the urologist his or her opinion.

Okay thanks. I will try to get an appointment with a GP asap so that I can get prescribed medications and see if they know a urologist who specializes in peyronies. I was also recently thinking about trying to contact a urologist from John's Hopkins since I'm sure they have doctor's that specialize in peyronies.

John Hopkins would be a great place to go, if not at first, at least for a Peyroines specialist. Every case is different so I'd definitely try to get into John Hopkins for the urology consult. Good luck.

Asking a Peyronies Disease specialist is a good idea.  If they are not truly a Peyronies Disease specialist, You can read the research here and even bring it to them for consideration.

This looks very much like my case.. I have maybe a little more bend and little less narrowing. I saw a number of Uros and they all said that do to the plaque being higher up closer to the glands excision surgery is not worth it.. There is too much risk for losing sensation. Also Xiaflex really isn't proven to  help narrowing and your curve isn't close to 30 degrees. If you've had Peyronie's since February the pain is prob gone.. there is no need to take any oral drugs if the pain is gone. They don't anything. I was on them all! Lastly I would avoid traction as it tends to just piss off plaque higher on the shaft and cause more narrowing. Another lesson learned. I find that a little viagra 20mg before sex gives me enough rigidity for sex and helps the narrow part.

Lost about 2cm length

@Xavier did you see any improvements with medication. Yeah at this point i don't see much improvement, but I plan on trying to find a good urologist to see what his recommendation is. Did you lose length as well?

I think I do see the plaque on both side. On one side it looks reddish and on the other side it looks purplish black :(

I agree with Xavier99. But, be sure to get a good exam at John Hopkins. They may put you on pentox and either cialis or viagra and you can see if there's any improvement. I honestly don't know if a year of so of Pentox helped me. You can't just take it and later see an improvement and say the Pentox did it. That's not a scientific control. It could have gotten better simply on its own with no treatment. Xiaflex will not probably be recommended, at least not yet.  And not surgery.

Peyroines is a strange disease. Every case is different. A minority of cases just improve on their own without treatment (like 10%) and the rest are sort of split between stabilizing and staying the same or getting worse.  At This point you really just have to get into a Peyroines specialist and get first the diagnosis and then discuss treatment options.

I didn't see any improvement with Viagra, Pentoxofylinne and a multivitamin prescribed. But the Urologist said that I prob wouldn't anyway. I would say the drugs helped with the pain and kept me having sex with my wife all through the acute stage. Jan is right that you should see a specialist. I think because you are young and  def straight enough for sex most uros will prob want you to let it be though. It's been tough for me accept but what we both have is actually pretty mild.. Most uros said they are seeing guys with their dicks corkscrewed and facing back at them. I'm not sure how much I lost but I was about 6.75in pre Peyronie's and lost at least 2cm.. bend was measured at my Doppler last week at 10 degrees officially. I plan on showing my dick pics soon as my journey is pretty much over with this thing. I have the first month of bend starting to today.
