Hello all,

I'm really pleased to have found this forum and it is clearly an amazing resource for many people around the world.

To be honest I had not even heard of Peyronie's disease before this week and now I am reaching out to explain my symptoms and ask for what my best options are.

I am 29yo, about 1 month ago I noticed some bruising and swelling on my shaft after masturbation. I had never experienced this before, but I didn't really think a great deal of it and over the next couple of days bruising and swelling went away, everything seemed normal and I did not give it a second thought.

Last week however, I noticed a lump that had never been there before, it is in the centre of the shaft about 2/3 of the way up from the base. So naturally I started to search the internet for what it might be and that was when I came across Peyronie's. I figured the lump + the mild trauma a few weeks earlier must be a sure sign that this is early scar tissue/plaque forming?

RE the lump itself, it is kind of small, maybe feels like a small pea under the skin, when erect it almost seems like it is perfectly aligned with the dorsal vein. It is quite hard, if I rub my finger over it it feels like it moves from side to side slightly. Even though it is under the skin, if I pull the skin tight across it, it seems to me to have a pearly/white appearance. I have been aware of it for about 5 days now and it has not seemed to change in shape or location in that time. It is more obvious when erect, but I can locate and feel it when flaccid.

One thing to note is that I have not detected any bending/curving of the penis, either flaccid or hard, nor have I had any pain as yet. As this is all very new to me I would like your advice on what my next steps should be? Is this definitely the beginnings of Peyronie's? Are there some preventative measures I should start taking immediately? Is it a good sign that there is no bend/pain, or is that just a matter of time until the lump/scar tissue hardens? Should I go to my doctor ASAP or should I give it a bit of time to see how it plays out?

Another difference I have noticed is that I would normally always wake up with an erection in the mornings, but in the last week that has not happened, but I think this might be psychological due to the stress and anxiety I have felt since discovering the lump.

Thank you so much

I could be a thrombosed vein, normal scar from an actual injury (different than Peyronies Disease), or early signs of Peyronies Disease.  It is impossible to tell.

I almost hesitate to suggest that read over this document just because there is no need to abscess at this point but you might pick up a few supplements you can take that are generally good for you anyway.  Make sure you give this every chance to heal without aggravating it. https://www.peyroniesforum.net/index.php/topic,3180.0.html

Thank you for your reply Hawk! This forum really feels like a great place for support and guidance. I've read the survival guide and I will pick up the supplements and start taking them immediately. I had given up smoking for the last 6 months, but in just the last couple of weeks started again, I will cut that out straight away as well as it is a stupid habit anyway!

When you say I should avoid any aggravation, I assume you mean avoid sex and/or masturbation? That is fine, but just to understand, getting erections is not a bad thing right? From everything I've read on here, they promote healthy blood flow/circulation?

thanks again

Erections supply the penile tissue with oxygen and are healthy, in fact essential.  By aggravating I simply mean NO rough sex whether with a partner or masturbation. That means no sex with a partial erection where your penis is doing a lot of bending. well lubricated sex (naturally or otherwise) with a full erection is fine.  If a partner is being rough simply tell them "gentle".  If they can't understand that then avoid them.  Also in case you don't know, this forum is full of men who were injured with a woman on top straddle them (cowgirl).  The scenario is they get too active, raise up until the penis comes out of the vagina and then slam their body weight down on the erect penis causing a significant injury if not a penile fracture. It is a dangerous position.  Do not trust someone in that position unless you have a good enough relationship with them that you can give them a warning and instructions and trust them to follow through.
