Hello!

Last weeks i had another MRT scan and ultrasonic test. But there were not recognizable any plaques. The doctors could see a little hourglass or waist form but not a plaque.

How many of you guys have peyronies disease and no recognizable plaques.

Would really appreciate your help.

Could the shape be cogenital (always existed)?  Or possibly diffuse plaque not picked up on MRI?

No befoere finasterid i never had an hourglass penis in erections. Also my penis has shrunk so much in girth and length since i stopped it.

I dont really know if diffuse plaque could not be picked up on MRI. 2 doctors have analyzed my MRI photos and both told me that "there is nothing".

Only thing is that a little bit of a waist/hourglass form could be seen on the MRI photos.

Am i a special case or are there a lot of people with hourglass here with no visible plaques?

best greets

hi, I have a bent penis, my doctor or myself could not feel any plaque, but my uro said she could, so i'm not sure if you have Peyronies Disease you always have plaque, don't think i have any plaque.

Hi jaxxoon66, I am in the same position and have been for some time. Scans were inconclusive, no obvious plaques were visible, but with dents and hourglassing and initially pain, it is (in my case) 100% that I have scarring in my penis causing issues.

We don't have any solid answer to this, but from my time reading many many many posts here over the years, I think the scarring I have is septal scarring. It seems to me that septal scarring causes dents but no bend, while scarring of the tunica causes bending.

Peyronie's is almost exclusively talked about as a disease involving a bend in the penis, I think that definition excludes what I consider to be genuine cases of Peyronie's but featuring hourglassing or dents rather than a bend.
This is an emotionally destructive condition, we all have it, let's be nice to each other.

Hello guys,

Just to had my contribution: over 8 months, I successively had one MRI showing a "partially active and probably ending septal inflammatory plaque", then an ultrasound showing "some partially calcified plaques in the septum and dorsal area", and then another ultrasound showing "nothing in the septum but a regular non-calcified dorsal plaque".

According to the latter uro, which is supposed to be THE French specialist of Peyronies Disease/penis ultrasound, it's not that my plaque evolved, it's just that the previous doctors were not skilled/commited enough to correctly diagnose my case. Personnally, I have just been feeling for 10 months a painful large plaque all over the first top half of my penis, and saw a very bad hourglassing slowly forming; so I cannot tell which of my doctors is right, but my gut feeling tells me that the last one is the good one (i.e. that you absolutely need to get various ultrasounds/MRI from various doctors until you find one like mine who spends 50 min studying every millimeter of your junk with her ultrasound machine).

PS : Hey Skunk, just like you I was totally convinced that hourglassing was caused by septal scarring, but this uro I'm talking of (Dr. Sussman) told me that my "cup-like" plaque all above the top half of my penis could also cause it (without any septal scar involved). Dunno what to think though...
- 35 yo, Peyronies Disease with chronic pain, general hourglassing with girth and length loss since 09/01/17.
- Pain almost cured with Hirudoid cream and diet/lifestyle changes (see my topics on this); deformity still here, but partly reduced with traction + VED.

Thank you!
Do you think this is reversible?

Do you have any new updates or information of the ISS? I can clearly see hour-glassing, scars, etc. To this day no urologist, test or doctor has perceived any scars..only got possible pre-peyronies and venous leak.

I have a consultation with an andrologist in a few days and will take another US.

Peyronies can absolutely manifest as hour glassing, dents, and/or shortening, etc with NO bends.

Does the hourglassing go away when erect?
