Hello everyone,

I'll start by saying how glad I am to have found this forum. After reading it for hours, I've been incredibly impressed by how supportive you are to one another, and I feel like there is hope for me.

I first saw my primary doctor 4 months to take a look at what I thought was a very small cyst in my penis. She felt it, and referred me to a Urologist within her network. As soon as the urologist felt the tiny lump, he said "this is Peyronie's. It's nothing to worry about. It's benign, you may experience some curvature, some pain, but nothing to worry about."

I'm sure you're all familiar with the wave of anxiety that came over me after doing a Google search, so let's just say he wasn't keeping it real with me.

The following week, we started bi-weekly injections of Verapamil directly into the plaque. He has recommended against Xiaflex at this point, and suggested that oral supplements don't really work either.

I have now had 3 injections, and since then, I have started to experience curvature, and additional plaque, probably 5x the scale of my initial consultation. But the pain, generally, has been better.

My Urologist also suggested that I get a traction device, specifically a Penimaster, which is in the mail now.

Outside of that, I haven't gotten a lot of support or compassion from my Urologist. Our injection sessions are really brief. He doesn't ask me for updates when I see him. I come to him with thoughtful questions each session, but tries to answer them briefly and vaguely. His general demeanor is "yeah, I know, it sucks"  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I am 28 years old. I've been with my girlfriend for almost 2 years. She has been incredibly supportive, I couldn't ask for a better partner to get through this with me. I've been really open with her about everything since the first time I felt something was off, including how it has affected me mentally. I'm really thankful for that.

Intimacy, as you would expect, has been difficult. But the hardest part for me by far has been the phycological side of things. I'm really trying to focus on the good parts of my life, but it has been difficult knowing that there is no real cure for this. It's hard to see the light.

I'll also mention that I can't recall any particular event or series of events that could have contributed to this. Certainly nothing repeated, to my knowledge.

Right now, I'm looking for help with three things.

First – I'm looking for a routine that I can do at home, between doctor visits. I've seen a lot of here about light stretching routines, but I've also read a lot of home remedy warnings as well. If anyone has anything that they've found to be effective, I'm all ears.

Second – I'm looking for a specialist in New York City. If anyone has any leads, please reply here or send me a message. I have found a few names on here but most of them have bad reviews from the community.

Third – I've read a lot on here about certain vitamins and prescriptions that have helped a lot of you guys. Mostly Pentox and CoQ10, but a lot of other "stacks" as well. Any help here would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance for welcoming me to the community.  :)

Hi there,

Have you tried Dr. Stahl at Columbia ? He's my doctor and I'd say he's definitely informative, up to date on treatment and helpful. I'd try giving them a call at Columbia urology

Hello,

I tried to give him a call today actually, but they were closed from the storm. Glad to hear you recommend him, it puts me at a bit of ease. Anything helps.

Thanks!

Paolo

offtempo, I can definitely recommend Acetyl L-Carnitine, 1000-2000mg per day, it will help in many ways including anxiety  :)
There are other supplements for ED, but presume you are okay in that 'department' so to speak  :D
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.
