  Hi everyone,

A big thanks to all of you for making this forum such a life-saver for so many.

I'm based in Germany, and am now 49.

Currently taking each day
2 x Pentox 400mg
1 x  Cialis  5mg
2 x Ubiquinol 120mg

Here's my "history":

In early December 2015 I got an "official " confirmation of Peyronies from a urologist who did an ultra sound and and physical check.  He diagnosed calcification on the plaques. Unfortunatley that particular doctor is, like so many in Germany, of the "don't do anything and just accept your fate" variety. Very soon after that first trip to the doctor the bottle-necking changed into an upward curve . At full erection it's 43 degrees. I think I've lost about 2 cm in length and some girth near the glans.

It took me a while to find a urologist knowledgable about Peyronies Disease but did eventually find one who had treated a friend. My first visit to him was at the beginning of June this year.

To my relief, he put me on Pentox, which can be paid for on the German statutory insurance if prescribed. He was also willing to give me Cialis (5mg) when I pushed him on this, although he didn't seem to think it played a role in Peyronies Disease therapy.  I started these two at the beginning of June this year. I had already started taking Ubiquinol (200mg per day) in April and, have continued with it, although I didn't  see any improvement.

To be honest, I haven't really seen a lot of improvement with the Pentox either, though fortunately no deterioration either. Both I and my partner thought that there was a bit of reduction of curve, but aafter taking photos and measuring the angle when  fully erect, I think that is not correct. There may be a slight improvement in girth.

I don't smoke and do a bit of sport. But I do sit rather a lot, particularly at the computer. (I try not to lean forward when at the computer as I think this leads to the slight discomfort.)

The doctor is keeping me on Pentox for a few  months and then we'll see.

Now here is a question: My present doctor originally  put me  on Pentox ONE table per day (400mg). I queried this with him, because I had the impression from this forum that everyone seems to be taking THREE x 400mg per day or more. He said "the dose is one or two. People sometimes suffer dizziness. You can go up to two  if you want." So I did.

I'm grateful to have found ANY doctor willing to give me the stuff, but if he's only prescribing me such a small dose, am I risking losing any benefit from it?

Hello and Welcome,

Please visit the Traction/VED boards to read up on those therapies. these added to your medication could be of some benefit.

Moderator since 2015- Missouri- I work in the medical field and have strong knowledge of insurance and how to obtain coverage for medication and other treatments. Being a woman I do not have Peyronies but you can ask me anything. I am happy to help.

Thanks, Stabler67, I'll give the traction and VED options some more thought. I'd been putting it off, thinking they might be more appropriate later down the line, but I'll look into it more closely.

Try also to incorporate vitamin K into your diet. You can't overdose on it, as the body will only use what's necessary. Exceptions are diabetes, kidney and liver diseases or if on blood thinners.

K 1 & 2 complex, with a ratio of around 1: K2 MK-7, 5: K2 MK-4, 5: K1. E.g. 200µg, 1000µg, 1000µg.
You'll get those readily available from a big internet bookshop in Germany ;)

If it does not help for Peyronie's, at least you'll lower your risk of arteriosclerosis.

JosephR

Thanks, I'll look into that: Vitamin K is a new one on me, but there is some discussion on these sites, I see so I'll give it some thought.

JosephR, If supplementing with K2 then take it with D3.

Vitamin K and vitamin D work together to increase Matrix GLA Protein (or MGP), the protein responsible for protecting your blood vessels from calcification (or so I am told).  :)

On your first post you stated 'But I do sit rather a lot, particularly at the computer', I had this problem with work. I do a bit of indoor rowing now  and body weight squats, they appear to help me as I was worried about getting PAD (Peripheral Arterial Disease)
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.
