Not sure what to write and who may read this.

I'm a 36 year old male and woke up a few months ago with a painful erection and curvature in my penis. I injured myself during sex about a year and a half prior to that fateful morning. It took a month or two to recover from the injury but everything was fine once I healed. That injury is the only logical conclusion I can draw as to why I now have a curve in my penis. I joined because I guess I'm finally ready to deal with my issue and need guidance. So I hope I'm as welcomed as everyone else on here appears to be by the long standing members/admins.

Symptons: Plaque just under head of my penis (left side so bends to the left about 30 degrees), no issues with erections (thankfully) but mild pain/discomfort when erect.

I live in a smaller town where there isn't a urologist. I'm about 4 hours away from a large city and go there rather frequently. I've read different information as to the benfits of visiting a sexual dysfunction doctor (do they exist?) versus a urologist due to the fact that urologists dismiss Peyronie's with little more than Viagra/Cialis prescriptions. Not sure of the legitimacy to either statement. I'm willing to go to my family doctor (walk-in clinic) to get a referral but I'm not optomistic on when or if I'll get one. It's worth a try though.

Does anyone reading this have any solutions they've employed on their own that resulted in the plaque breaking down and reducing or eliminating the curvature?

Basically, has anyone straightened their own penis out? If yes, any advice or wisdom to share?

Thanks for reading and I look forward to meaningful discussions with you all.

I'm sure one of your Canadian compatriots can answer your question regarding a Peyronies aware urologist. But yes, you do need to see one to get an accurate diagnosis. Although yes,  your symptoms do sound like Peyronies.

The disease is an enigma.what works for one guy does not for another. It's best that you read all you can here about the various treatments that have had results for people.

Re straightening the curvature. Read carefully the sections on traction and VED. For an attempt at straightening the curvature, I'd recommend traction.
