As I am lying here with my penis in a bandage, with a catheter in, I have begun the recovery process from my surgery, which took place earlier this morning. Dr Franklin Kuehhas from the London Andrology Clinic, performed my surgery. To clarify, Dr Kuehhas does consultations, and performs surgery at the Cadogan Clinic in London, UK for one week, every four or five weeks; The remainder of the time,  he practices in Vienna, Austria, where he resides. We, as patients, have the choice to receive treatment at either location. Dr. Kuehhas' reported superior bedside manner, is not just an urban-legend. He walks-the-walk, and is personally concerned with you, your satisfaction, and the entire process. While no surgeon, Doctor, human, can guarantee the perfect outcome, we, as patients, do the best we can to find a surgeon, and put our faith in his or her abilities. Whatever the outcome, I thank Dr Kuehhas,  and many of the other urologists and urologic surgeons who are committed to helping us to achieve a functioning, straight penis. I commend them for both specializing, and risking their professional medical careers and reputations to endeavour providing a comprehensive, surgical solution to a problem that is so wide-spread, yet so many men go untreated and under-treated, and are forced to live out many years, if not their entire lives, without ever finding a viable solution to this problem that we, on this forum, all share.

One week after surgery, still swollen,  but the color is looking better. Soreness, stings when I pass. Once the swelling goes down, should be much more comfortable.  Penis feels very heavy due to the swelling. No apparent size loss, in-fact hangs longer. Will see, once swelling is gone.

It takes time. Healing is a slow process.

The bandages are to prevent excess swelling after the surgery. Once they are off start with gentle manual stretching.

Two weeks post op from Edygio grafting surgery. Franklin said to begin the daily Cialis 5 mg. No longer taking the testasterone blocker.

I saw Dr Franklin Kuehhas a few months ago and I finally found the courage to undergo surgery...
I am scheduled for next week. as you can imagine I am quite nervous. Peyronies has caused too much
problems in my life for too long...

Since the onset of this disease, I have seen many so called specialists but none of them made me comfortable.
I dont understand why almost all of them would like to perform the Nesbit surgery. The forum and the internet
is full of horror stories about Nesbit. I must admit that this has hold me back for a very long time.

The upcoming surgery makes me worried if I have chosen the right guy to fix my problem. I have done plenty
of research on Peyronies and on Dr Franklin Kuehhas. It seems he knows what he is doing. When I first met him
he kind of put me at ease and promised me a solution. I am desperate to get my old life back, Peyronies has even
stopped me from interacting with my own wife. I am sick of my current situation and just hope that I have chosen the
right surgeon.

Any advice from you guys is much appreciated!

Pdrury;

Franklin did my surgery last November. I had a pretty severe curvature - somewhere near to 90deg at its worst point, although it didn't look quite as bad as that. Anyway, it was pretty much unusable sexually. Now, 9 months later, I pretty much have my old dick back. I'm down marginally  in size, but I'm continuing with the Phallosan and hope to get that back. The important thing for me is that my dick is straight and very usable again!

Like you, I researched thoroughly before deciding to go ahead with surgery, and to choose Franklin Kuehhas and the Egydio technique. It struck me as the most logical method of relaxing the curvature. No permanent sutures, minimally invasive, no excision unless absolutely necessary - which greatly reduces the risk of post op ED.

You are in good hands, he's an excellent surgeon. Do as he tells you and you should be fine. When the surgery is finished your dick may look like it's been run over by a truck, but it will heal.

My only codicil would be to say that REAL recovery time is months, not weeks. You may well be able to use it after 6-8 weeks, but it won't feel the same. It takes far longer, in my experience, for you to return to 'normal'

pdrury

thank you Jonbinspain, your feedback is much appreciated. I had extensive talks with franklin and he also told me that being functional at 6 weeks doesnt mean that you  have reached the end result... it kind of worried me, when he said i have to use the stretcher for such a long period of time, but it seems that most of the guys here are following the recommendations and get used to it.

i am more relaxed about the upcoming journey ... still a bit nervous though, but from what i have read and researched Dr Franklin Kuehhas is the right guy. Will keep you posted about my recovery.

Will the initial postoperative period be painful? I am a bit of a coward when it comes to pain... how was your experience?

Jonbinspain

As I've posted on the other thread, I had minimal pain. Although I slept a lot in the few days afterwards - I was out for around 2.5 hours and I guess it was after effects of the anasthetic.

As I've also said, real recovery time is months, not weeks. Patience, you will need.

pdrury

I did it  :) I am so happy now!!
my surgery is over. what an experience, I was so nervous on the day of surgery, but Franklin put me at ease with all his comments. I must say he guided me through this, once I woke up he smiled and said perfectly straight. What a relieve... I have a thick bandage wrapped around my penis and it leaks a little bit, but Franklin says that is normal. We have changed the dressing and things look quite well. Some bruising, but not as I expected. Thanks to the all of you guys for your information and your help. Dr Franklin Kuehhas is truly a very nice and skilled surgeon, he made me feel secure about my choice and has been helpful from day one.
I hope that the recovery is fast, although I know i should be patient and wait. My penis is starting to hurt a bit today, Franklin said its because the local anesthesia is fading...
I ll keep you posted.

That is great news, please keep us updated on your recovery.

Gents, I wanted to update you on my reccovery from the Egydio Technique that was performed in August. I am a little over 30 days post op. The pain is pretty much gone. I have been using the Phallosan for the last couple of weeks and taking 5 mg Cialis. I am noticing that my penis is curving to the left during nightly erections. Franklin says this can be normal until a 100% erection is achieved. Right now, I am having about 80% erections, which are not fully-stabilized. The area where the bend begins, is the least firm part of the erection. Franklin says, continue to use the phallosan, and this should correct the problem. I have to say, I am cautiously optimistic that this is a temporary issue during the healing process, but I have to face the reality that more surgery may be required to correct this issue. Unfortunately, I have lived with this similar left curve for most of my life. I would be lying to say that it is not discouraging, however I am prepared to stay the course, and, if more surgery is required, then that is what I will do. I am committed to solving this problem that has plagued me most of my life both physically and psychologically. Franklin is a great surgeon, and I know he will be there until we find the solution.

hey daved2
i had my surgery a week ago. dressing is off now and i am looking forward to my first erections.
franklin told me to wait until they are fully rigid. will start with cialis soon.
i am in touch with him almost daily and he keeps giving me advice. get in touch with him if you have any issues, i am sure he ll get back to you.

daved2

Pdrury,

Thanks. Good luck in your recovery!

next update on my journey:
erections are coming back. they are still not of the quality they used to be, but my penis is definitely moving at night...
it is a bit painful and i have the feeling that the pain or the erections are waking me up. i am curious to see my first full erection but franklin said i have to wait a few weeks until the pain subsides. from what i can see down there things look quite straight, but the penis is still not very rigid.
i am massaging the penis a lot these days. franklin suggested to do so, it helps to reduce the swelling. he was right, after the removal of the dressing my penis was quite swollen after the first night. now it is almost back to normal.
next update will follow.

pdrury

still painful nights, but the pain levels are diminishing. franklin said it is normal. he put me on camomile tea to speed up the recovery. it is strange to put your dick into a cup of tea  ;D but it seems to work.
will keep you updated.

daved2

Been there, done that, dick dunked in tea. Doctors orders.

It gets easier.

As I've repeated so many times, time is the healer. We all recover at different rates, so don't be put off if somebody else seems to be healing quicker than you are.

This is major surgery to one of the most delicate parts of the male anatomy! You will eventually see improvements in your erections. Mine are only finally back to normal after 9 months. For a few months after surgery I had real trouble maintaining an erecetion.

I still have a tiny bit of residual tenderness around the head, where the incision line is. I don't really expect my dick to look totally normal again until about the one year mark.

pdrury

i am not complaining jon, in fact I am super happy with how things develop. as you say it was major surgery, i totally understand that recovery will take some time. my dick looks almost normal already... i was expecting much more bruising and swelling. another thing that makes me confident is franklin. he gives so much support and guidance, i have never seen that before. he is a great guy and surgeon!

off records guys: try to drink camomile tea it is quite good  ;D ;D ;D

pdrury

next update on my journey:
skin is healing very nicely, some of the sutures have already fallen off, others are still in place. Franklin told me not to touch them. The nocturnal pain has reduced. Thanks jon for your comments. they helped!
erections still not completely back... but i think  it is still within the range of what to expect.
other than that not much to say...

pdrury

erections are getting stronger. makes me happy. but still not where i was before the surgery.

Jonbinspain

Keep using the Phallosan. The traction will not only stretch the tissue and help you maintain size, but it will also help give you stronger erections.

Traction of any sort seems to have the effect of strengthening erectile function.

pdrury

My monthly update from surgery:

I saw Franklin for a follow up a week ago. I am pleased to tell you that franklin is very happy with the healing process. The incision line on my penis is healing nicely. I still have some parts that are a bit scared but Franklin told me that these areas will become normal very soon.

The most striking thing however happened today, when i woke up. Morning wood welcome back  ;D ;D ;D
I had my first- what i would call 90%- erection. What a relief guys, I think you can relate to this more than my partner. I have walked this bloody Peyroni's road for too long, it has caused depression and made me doubt about myself...

I am grateful I found Franklin he has been a great support from day 1. His guidance was and is exceptional. He was always available for me and my concerns. My surgery experience was great, pain was less then expected, although the nocturnal pain episodes were a bit nerve wrecking.

I have now started to wear Phallosan forte and will follow the instructions of Franklin. Stretch stretch stretch  ;)

Jonbinspain

Pdrury;

Good to hear man!

It's nice when you get what's pretty much your old dick back, isn't it?...

pdrury

hey jon
we are now brothers in arms  ;D
you are right looking down at your morning wood and not looking at a banana is just great. i still dont feel ready to use it though, as i dont want to jeopardize the outcome... although i was told to go for it ;)
what is your opinion when should i start using my penis?
i am a bit down on length but that is not an issue for me. will fall the recommendations and stretch my dick as often as i can.

Jonbinspain

If you feel ready and Franklin says ok, go for it. It may not feel the same for a while, but as time goes by, you'll get more and more back to normal.

Yes, keep doing as much traction and gentle manual stretching as you feel comfortable with. It's important to stretch that tissue and get back as much size as possible.

I have found that 15 mins a day of VED has helped give the 3D stretch and given me virtually all of girth back. Be careful with VED though! Don't overdo it!...

Hey guys. I wanted to share some photos of my recovery from Egydio grafting surgery just over 2 months ago. The first picture shows post-op residual curve to the left and the severe indentation. The 2nd photo was taken 3 weeks after, showing much improvement. When the first photo was taken, I was very disappointed, and worried that I would have to undergo more surgery to correct it. I have continued to take 5 mg Cialis each night, and doing traction. The improvement is very encouraging, whereas the first picture was depressing. For those experiencing post-op issues, continue to use some form of therapy to encourage healing and length restoration. Take an active role in your recovery, otherwise you may find yourself feeling loss and regret.

pdrury

Hi daved2
Great stuff man. Your dick is almost completely straight. Mine is straight too. Traction therapy is a bit time consuming but I am following franklins recommendations. I am not circumcised and putting on phallosan is a hustle sometimes. What's your experience? I guess with a circumcised penis traction becomes easier. I am using some tapes to make my life easier.
Thanks Jon for the VED advice. I'll start with that in a month or so. Great advice and guidance!! Thanks!!

Pfract

wow man! those are some encouraging pictures! it must have been disheartening to have your penis like that, and i can't imagine the happiness you must have now! hope you are able to straighten it completely and who knows, gain a bit of length too! it would be great!

daved2

Pdrury and Pfract,

Thank you for comments. Yes, the picture shows encouragement, however and indentation still exists on the left side, which makes for some curvature, and creates instability. Hopefully continued traction and healing will help this area.

For traction devices, I use Phallosan amd Male Edge. I prefer the stretch of the Male Edge. I am not sure that I am even using the Phallosan correctly. I have my follow-up appointment with Franklin in a few weeks. Will bring my devices with me to have him instruct me on the proper way to use these devices to ensure maximum results.

Good luck to both of you in your recovery.

another update. things are progressing ... i had quite an extensive foreplay yesterday. my dick was so hard... i wanted to have sex so badly, but i refrained from it. I still dont feel ready for it. I think its too early. Its a mental thing I guess... anyways, the point is that seeing my new and straight penis gives me a lot of hope and encouragement. I am sure i ll report more exciting stuff soon.

pdrury

as promised here comes my next update:
i am happy to announce that my willy has been officially tested and it worked;)
my sweetheart loved. it was awkward to be honest, because we were used to this bloody hook i used to have. but having my straight dick back is a blessing. i am still on traction and will continue to use it as instructed. things are progressing slowly, but i am not expecting any over night wonders.

peyronie's has taken too much from me, it almost ruined my marriage. i am so happy to look down at me erect willy and not having to see the bloody hook. i will update soon once i have tested further ;)

Hey! that is so good to read! :D and... did you feel a stretch also when using it again? hehe i hope so, it must be a good sign, of strong erections and good blodflow!

pdrury

man i won't tell lies, the first erections were a bit painful. but it was worth to go through it as i wanted to see what franklin had done to my willy. i was quite nervous and anxious at the beginning, but when i saw that the hook was gone ... happiness!

things are much better than at 4 weeks post op and my erections are not painful anymore. i am focusing on restoring my relationship with my wonderful wife. peyronie's has taken its toll. but i am sure i will be back to where i was with her soon...
