I have the hourglass and a slight left/upward bend. I can get an erection however the blood just drifts back out after a few minutes.

I have just got done with the URO who was on the suggested list. After sonograms and what not he finally said that he thinks it will just go away by itself at some point, or there is a good chance of it, and sent me out the door. He is extremely smart and has written extensively about Payronie's but I am still looking to do what I can as I'm 39 and still need help before I go nuts.

I am on Pentox and taking every supplement I can find. I have been working out and lost 25lbs in the last 4mos and am almost off of the BP medication that I blame for this condition to begin with.

Moving forward, I want to try heat therapy and a VED. I am planning on getting the Osbon Esteem. I have read about being careful with it. I have yet to ever use one. I am wondering:

Is there a pressure gauge on it? Or do I just pump a little to get the blood moving, making sure that I cause no pain..

When pumping, how long, after manual pumping, do you keep pressure before releasing?

How long of a pumping session do you do?

Finally, for the hourglass, is it best to avoid traction? IF that is an option for me I'd like to get one of those as well.

Thank you

The VED Therapy Protocols are on this Board (Vacuum Erection Devices (VEDs) for Peyronie's Disease) at the top. Either a 3 Cylinder or One Cylinder Protocol. They are the treatment regimens to follow. You can also download ready-made spreadsheets to track your progress through the relevant Protocol.

Most people opting for VED, myself included, use one of the Augusta products. Usually the 3 Cylinder Soma Correct. You will notice on the Forum main page / Board menu at the top that a deal has been negotiated by PDS with Augusta. The manual, not electric versions, provide the best control and safety.

In terms of pumping, it is generally recommended that you pump up to 50% erection and no more. This is a guideline only and at no point should there be discomfort or even any tingling. GO EASY. You will have seen posts on here about the benefits and results but also what has happened where people have over pumped.

You will see in the Protocol that each 'hold' after inflation is for between 5 - 10 seconds. I then rest for 10 - 15 seconds and start the next cycle and so on...

The Protocol states you do 10 cycles per session/day. I do between 10-13 cycles.

As for Traction. I have heard different views on that. From,  you don't want to do both to a damaged Penis per day to, there is no problem doing both.

The resident expert and developer of the treatment Protocols is, username: 'Old Man'. He was extremely knowledgeable and generous with his time answering my questions and is all round very helpful to members who still aren't clear after reading the Protocols and this Board

Excellent reply Gutted. I am also considering both methods in the near future and your post was super helpful. Thank you. And old-man also.

Thank you pfract !

As this thread title will probably get a lot of attention ... for the sake of thoroughness, it should be added that 3 x 400mg Pentox / day and low dose Cialis 2.5mg/day taken at night are considered an effective oral supplement routine supporting a VED Protocol.

Also, the role of heat treatment generally and particularly for VED sessions has recently had much support. Read all of this thread :     Heat Packs - Peyronies Society Forums

I also personally heat the VED cylinder and the tube of lube prior to a VED session to keep things as warm as possible. I use a hairdryer to heat them up before starting

Wow, thanks for the great reply! For other idiots like me:

Step by step instructions for therapy using a 1 cylinder VED - https://www.peyroniesforum.net/index.php/topic,4944.0.html.

My URO was hesitant to prescribe the 2.5mg Cialis daily, he said it was great, but expensive. I checked the price, and it is a $200-300/mo (I forget) but I am willing to pay it. I need to check w/ my ins and see if they'll cover it. Then again I may just try River...

I ordered heat packs from Amazon just now. :)
