Hi all,
I'm a 46 yr old who has always had the slight bend to the left. A few months ago i had a sharp pain at the base of my penis during sex but didnt think much of it. about 2 weeks as i was getting ready to insert into the old lady i noticed it had a really big bend (near 90 degrees). it freaked me out and i began researching and came to the conclusion that i had peyronies. went to my local urologist thinking he'd give me something for it and all would be normal in no time. when i got there he felt my plaque and said it was considerable size and that nothing should be done for 12 to 18 months and then surgery could make it straight. when i said that wouldnt work for me he seemed irritated and referred to a peyronies specialist in seattle that cant see me till august 15th. thats way too long but i did make the appt to see dr hunter wessells in case i needed him when the time comes. If anyone has heard of him and can tell me what to expect it would be appreciated. ive done alot of worrying and reading in the last week and came accross a strategy on a website called -the sexually healthy man-.  if anybody has any knowledge or insight about the site or stategy then i love to here about it as well.  i just ordered the needed items a few minutes ago and am preparing to fight this thing on my own since there doesnt seem to be any real help from the medical community available. i have insurance but who knows what they will wont cover when it comes to this plus i dont think regular drs really care if i get better anyways. i have no dought that i will correct myself without surgery and in a short amount of time. i will maintain this attitude cuz i think it will be my best tool for facing this challenge. im very grateful to have found this website because im obviously scared to death despite my positive stance.
thank you all

The website you mention is run by a guy Called Parks. He supposedly had Peyronies and cured himself. He now sells mostly worthless supplements to the unaware Peyronies sufferer. I would stay well clear.

If your Uro is recommending to do nothing, I'm guessing that your still in the active phase and he wants to wait for the disease to go into the chronic phase before surgery.

A 90 degree curve is pretty debilitating. I know, as I had a very nearly 90 curve myself.

I would recommend that you read all you can on the site. If you can get a prescription for Pentox I would strongly suggest you try that. Low dose Cialis - around 5mg is beneficial too. Other useful supplements are ALC, Citrulline Malate, CoQ10.

I would also suggest that you start using traction to try and correct some of the curvature. Read the section on the site.  It may well be that given the severity of your curvature that surgery will be necessary, but taking action now will hopefully reduce the degree of curvature and give the surgeon an easier job.

Regarding surgery, I had the Egydio technique and am now completely straight again. But surgical options can be discussed if and when it comes to,that.

Dr Wessel's is a well regarded trauma and reconstructive urologist.

Best first step is to get a penile ultrasound. If you have no calcification present then multiple options are available starting with non operative therapy (see Peyronies Survival Guide - Information for New Members - Peyronies Society Forums). If you have calcifications then options are more limited (should not do injectable therapy and contraindicated for Xiaflex) and primarily involve surgery.
