Hoping to learn a bit on this site. Have had a browse but thought I'd register and share my experience and maybe someone can give me some advice.

I'm in my mid thirties. Not aware of having had any unusual erections or penis injuries. Vague recollection of a bendy erection which may have been a once off when I was a tennager. I do have a bend to the left which I've always had and some twist but it's more that my penis veers off to the left at an angle about and inch up from the base when erect. Never been a problem.

A few weeks ago I had an erection where the base of the penis was filling up and getting hard but the top wasn't really catching up. It looked as though there was a bend but it may have been that the top was just floppy cause soft. In any case it shocked me so I tried to chill out for a few mins and tried again (masturbating) and eventually the blood filled up to the top and my erection straightened out into what would be a normal erection for me.

As far as I recall I was ok for a week then it started happening again and has been happening again for the last 2 weeks. My erections basically take time to get all the way through to the top. It's almost like there's an elastic band stopping the blood getting through about 2/3 of the way up.

When I wake up during the night and in the mornings I have normal straight erections. Also earlier in the day I have close to normal development of a normal erection but in the evening when my libido is a bit lower and I'm less easily aroused, the erection is more deformed when semi erect but straightens out eventually.

I've no pain and I can't see or feel and dents or plaques.

I'm concerned that maybe this is the first stage of peyronies and that the plaque/scar tissue isn't bad enough yet that the erection is able to straighten it out.

I went to see my GP and told him and he thinks I'm right and will refer me to the urologist but I don't know how long that will take with waiting lists etc. Would appreciate any advice from anyone here on how they're condition developed etc.

The GP didn't do a physical examination and didn't ask about dents' or pain etc so not sure if he knows a lot about it.

Thanks in advance

Hi Mattie,

Welcome to the forum.  I read your post and my gut feeling is that you may have something else other than Peyronies going on.  I don't think Peyronies is here one day and gone the next.  Instead it is a steadily increasing progression of plaque buildup of or in the tunica and appears to get worse over time.

Hopefully others will chime in and correct me if I'm wrong.  In the mean time get a urologist with experience in Petronies Disease and let him examine you.

Also, use the forum to read all about Peyronies and the many treatment options that there are available.  There are some brilliant minds on this forum.  You'll discover that has you read.

Good luck,

Jimbruski

Thanks for taking the time to reply. Have been browsing the forum and finding it very informative. I''ve started to take Vit E and will do my research on here and see how things go for the next little while. If it get's worse I think I might have to did deep and pay to see an expert.

I should that I'm not sure what the nightime erections I get look like when developing as I'm asleep! So God knows what's going on down there! When my libido is better earlier in the day, my penis isn't shrunken so seems to be less an issue in developing the erection but it still takes longer to reach the glans then normal.

If there's anyone from Ireland or northern Ireland on here that can recommend a good Dr I'd really appreciate it

Hi Mattie,

What you describe seems more typical of ED rather than peyronie's. Certainly, some peyronie's sufferers also develop ED, while many do not. It seems like there's some blood flow issues going on, however it's a good sign that you still have nocturnal erections. Have your NTEs  decreased in frequency and/or rigidity?

GPs don't tend to physically examine. They aren't well trained on penises!

Hi Peety,

Are NTEs nocturnal erections?

If so, they seems the same as normal. Likewise for morning wood.

My penis and my balls seem to be shrinking up more than normal at times during the day and at other times my penis seems longer and thinner when flaccid but to be honest with you I never paid much attention before so I may be overthinking all that side of it.

Definitely having more problems getting erections in the evening etc so think libido is low maybe . probably doesn't help hat I'm worried about this. Never had this problem when developing erections before though so not sure what it is. Hopefully it might pass but the main advice I'm getting from everyone seems to be to find a good Urologist so that will be my focus.

Thanks for your advice

NeoV

This is worth seeing a specialist on Peyronie's for, in my opinion. Peyronie's can come with ED and be interlinked with blood flow issues, since poor oxygen flow leads to fibrosis, which then causes worse blood flow.

I would be interested in how a VED would help you, but I cannot recommend it now since I am no urologist and do not know what is happening. I have heard of what you describe before, from some members with Peyronie's on this forum and those with a type of priaprism.

I think on one occasion my penis was like this, back when the disease started or even years after during a strange event. I don't mean to scare you but just suggesting you follow through all the way to figure out what's up.

Yes, NTEs = nocturnal erections. It's good that they haven't changed. Keep any eye on them over the next few months.

As NeoV says, it's worth seeing a urologist who has experience with peyronies. Check out the doctors page and see if there's one in your area: https://www.peyroniesforum.net/index.php/board,37.0.html

I don't know much about medical care in Ireland. In the UK you can expect to wait 2-4 months to see a urologist. You may want to consider going private, as expensive as it can be.

Best

Thanks all, I'm taking some comfort from the feedback here but not so much as to be complacent. My GP referred me to cardiologist too due to chest pain so that's something I'm concerned about too. I'm young, thin and reasonably fit but have high cholesterol and family history of heart disease so need to get to the bottom of it. Great forum you all have here.Fair play to you all for supporting each other. Keep up the good work. I'll let you all know how things progress just in case there's anyone else in my boat down the line.
