Hi all,

In 51, healthy, in good shape, eat well and go to the gym 4 times a week and ive always loved sex!

At the beginning of January, my wife noticed my penis had a curve (starting at the underneath of my penis head and curving towards my body). It was the first time I noticed it too. Like most things, I didnt take any notice of it as I still had sex then.

The next time i got an erection, my penis was the same so I made an appointment with the doctor. I took pictures on my phone to show her (erect) and she examined me (flaccid). She said it was Peyronies but I got the feeling she was just agreeing with my self diagnosis from everything I saw and read on the internet.

It literally changed over night (the shape of my penis), however I had noticed that sex with my wife the 2 or 3 times previous to noticing the curve, my penis didnt enter her as easily as normal and it took a few attempts to "get it in". I didnt look at my penis then and it was only at the beginning of Jan this year that I noticed the curve.

However, i get no pain, can still have sex and get an erection, albeit it looks slightly smaller because of the curve upwards and there are no lumps or anything different apart from what i have just mentioned.

Everybody seems to have pain or difficulty getting an erection or lumps etc on the penis however so far - I dont.

Its knocked me for six to be honest and has seriously dented my confidence. Im worried that it could get worse and to be honest dont even know for sure that its Peyronies.

Can anybody offer any advice, suggestions, treatments (ive read a lot on the internet and not sure what to believe).
Thank you for taking the time to read this.

The idea that Peyronie's is a "lump" on the penis is BS, and google images are also BS, completely outdated and uninformed.

Peyronie's is subtle, and for this reason a lot of people wait till it's too late to get treatment.

I would say if your penis is curving at all, and it wasn't before, it's 99.9% likely to be Peyronie's. The good news is that a mild case should not be too hard to treat with things like gentle traction, supplements, and Pentox and low dose Cialis.

Many of us don't have pain, others do, and some of us have palpable plaques, while many of us don't : /

Try to set up an appointment with a specialist, and until then be very careful with your penis during sex. Make sure it's as hard as possible and go slow. It's surprisingly easy to re-injure it even when being careful.

The supplements that have been shown to work are CoQ10 at 400mg a day, L-Citrulline, Acetyl-L-Carinitine, and anything that improves penile health such as ginger, blueberries, pine bark extract, etc. Pentox is the main drug for peyronie's and has nice studies on it, but still some choose not to use it such as myself for now.

There was a study long ago on the dead bodies of men that showed that at least quarter of them all had penile scarring. It's a common thing and not something to feel ashamed about. Considering how often we use our penises it's no damn surprise. I bet that quarter of men were the one's who were the most active! There is a genetic link however, so to say it's just a normal thing would be wrong and unfair to those with worse cases. I just mean to say that you aren't doomed and you aren't any more unworthy of sex than any other guy.

Stay positive and do what you can! : ) a lot of us have improved a lot. In my case I smoothed out my bend considerably and my penis looks straight when filled all the way out.

Val,

I'm right there with you 51 and the same thing happened to me in August. It is early on for you like me and it is important to get on this ASAP. Go see a specialist in Peyronies. There is a page on the main page dedicated to specialists and if you are fortunate enough to live close enough to Chicago, Dr. Lawrence Levine is about as good as it gets. Penile Traction is a good start, VED is being used by many in this forum and I plan to start on that as well. Pentox is  suppose to help. I am taking the mountain of supplements on this and other sites, Pentox and Traction. I am using the Size Genetics device and find it to be a quality product, although it isn't the most practical device. The Fallosan Forte seems to be the best for hiding and comfort and there are a number of people on this forum using it.

As for the psychological aspect of this condition, it is severely under estimated. Your wife's support is huge. A lot of crap will run through your head and you have to cut it out of the forefront of your mind and put it on the back shelf and say to yourself that your are going to kick the crap out of this and win.  If there is one thing I have to stress is DO NOT DELAY in seeing a competent Peyronies specialist.
